Email Lists & Subscribers

Okay so within this article, I am going to explain

exactly why as a business owner, small or indeed large, you need to be building a solid list of

subscribers. Now I realize that many people already grasp the concept of email marketing, but not

everybody has yet to understand the potential, so for the sake of everyone’s benefit, I am going to

tailor this post so it appeals to everyone, from the online business owner to the computer novice.

If you would like to grab some golden information on email marketing and list building, read on..

8 Reasons To Build A List

What I am going to do is keep this simple and give you the top 9 reasons you should be focusing

on list building and email marketing, especially if you are just an offline brick and mortar

business.

1. Prospect engagement - Now this I believe to be the most important reason for email

marketing and list building, it lets you build a solid relationship with your list of potential

prospects, people who have a need or interest in your product. It also lets you build your

relationship with people who have already brought from you an let me assure you, if you are an

brick and mortar business, your customers will very likely still be writing reviews and

recommending you online!

If you focus on building a relationship with these people, they will appreciate this fact massively

and become encouraged to buy from you over and over again. People like the personal touch,

they always have and always will, nothing beats a business owner that shows they care about

their clientele, so show them by using email to connect.

2. May buy at a later date - This is based on the principle of attraction marketing, something

that I have based my entire online business upon. It suggests that people often do not make a

buying decision immediately, in fact, depending on the product sales cycle, it can often mean that

a purchase is not made until the 11th time that someone see’s your sales message or ad. This

leaves a lot of money on the table if you are not following up with your prospects as they will not

be actively ready to buy just yet, but in the near future they may well be!

20% of people will make some sort of purchase, even if it is a small purchase but a purchase none

the less the first time around. 20% will not be interested in your product or service, but the other

60% are on the fence and will buy from you if you give them a good reason and they are sure that

your product will enrich their life in some way or form.

3. Industry Expert - I will just take this opportunity to say that some of these points do link.

Using your knowledge of your said industry, you can provide massive value in your messages

which will solidify you as the industry expert in your prospects eyes. Once you have have

established yourself as said expert, you will begin to attract other people to your business,

inquisitive about what you are offering. This does link with the above two reasons however it is a

point in its own. You need to utilize your expert knowledge in order to provide value, which in

turn will increase the value of your customers. For example you could try sending links to your

blog posts, or email small tidbits on the subject about how to be better at whatever you industry

entails.

4. The Money Is In The List - This is a popular attraction for marketers these days, people often

use it to emphasize the importance of building a list, however I am going to explain how this is

true, you just have to believe that it is!

Now, the reason the money is in the list should have become a little bit more apparent from the

above reasons I have given, however some people still don’t know the value of an email list and

others just don’t care. When you build a list of people who know and trust you, it becomes that

much easier to sell to them. If you have ever tried to sell a family member something and then a

complete stranger, you will know that selling to someone you have a connection with is much

easier. It works in reverse for your prospects, if they feel they know you on a personal level, they

will be much more inclined to buy from you. Once someone has brought from you, there is a very

high chance that they will buy again, cue the up sells. Now this does not mean selling them any

old rubbish, it means building on the value you already provide by suggesting a service or

product that will compliment what they have already brought, something that will get them even

better results. These are usually the more expensive packages and products that you sell and this

is where the real money lies.

5. Provide value, prospect less - This point is going to be a quick one, simply because it does

not need much explanation. As I have already explained, the more value you provide to people,

the more people will want to buy from you, the principle of attraction marketing. If you focus

your effort on this kind of marketing, for example social media, article writing, blogging, you will

not need to do as much traditional prospecting like cold calling, emailing etc. Your time will be

free’d up to deal with the leads you have coming in on autopilot. With email marketing, once

your list becomes substantial, you can start to focus even more on your prospects and use referral

techniques etc to build your list further.

6. Don’t Lose Out On E-commerce - This is very simple, if you are not on the internet or are

doing very little to market yourself online, you are losing sales, period. Set your self up an online

shop (there are pages on how to do this, just Google it!), and begin to sell your products/service

online. E-commerce stores can become incredibly lucrative, providing you have the right

marketing strategy, which is why I’m here to help anyway. So many people are buying online

now, you cannot afford to not sell online, because once you have your shop set up, that email list

becomes a gold mine for your business.

7. Newsletters - It has been found that a well crafted weekly or monthly newsletter is great for

your audience and people love to be informed about your business. Give them what they want, let

them know about product launches, discounts, news etc and people will become further intrigued

by what you are doing.

8. Email Forwarding - I have personally not experienced much success with email sharing,

however I know a lot of people have their emails forwarded on from their prospects, either

because of the awesome content or the offer they have going, so this can become a lucrative

aspect of your email marketing efforts. Encourage people to share your emails by providing an

incentive, for example free products or vouchers for your business.

So there you are, 8 reasons to build an email list. I really do hope you take action on this and

when you do, if you have an question or queries at all about anything, please do let me know via
