Lismore in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales (NSW), with its surrounding villages and nearby coastal towns of Byron Bay, Lennox Head and Ballina, is a superb location to live and study. Artistic, alternative and socially active, Lismore is renowned for its proximity to subtropical World Heritage rainforests, access to stunning beaches and signature events.
Bold, progressive and just 23 years of age – Southern Cross University is one of the Asia-Pacific’s Top 100 Universities and one of the world’s Top 50 Generation Y Universities.

We are one of the leading destinations for students seeking a high-quality education in an Australian university.
Our contemporary campuses, with purpose-built world-class facilities, are located on the east coast of Australia, at the Gold Coast in Queensland, and in Lismore and Coffs Harbour in New South Wales.
The campuses provide a safe, caring, inclusive and friendly environment that seeks to embrace students with a sense of belonging and community.
The people of Southern Cross University have been very kind and generous. They are always eager to help you with anything that you need and make you feel comfortable and at home. I have made many friends throughout these past weeks and have been lucky enough to see quite a bit of the surrounding area of Lismore.

Volunteering at the Koala Centre is an amazing opportunity for students studying at Southern Cross University in Lismore. I cared for Koalas at the centre and learnt how to preserve their habitat. I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world.
Amanda Boss, USA
We had an unbelievable experience in Australia during our study abroad semester. Studying at Southern Cross University was so much fun.
