ZTE flaunts 4G rail solutions Telecoms equipment, network solutions and mobile devices firm ZTE is demonstrating its 4G rail telecommunication solutions at GITEX and the Middle East Rail Technology Exhibition.

Industry experts have predicted that by integrating the 4G network with rail transportation, ZTE can boost global rail transportation development.

Prior to the Middle Eastern events, ZTE’s 4G rail telecommunication solution was successfully implemented into the Wenzhou City Railway Line S1 project in China. This solution provides three TD-LTE-based key services, including wireless multimedia broadband trunking, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) and Passenger Information System

has recently signed partnership agreements with Toshiba, Nexthink and OFAX and will be showcasing their solutions at the event.

Nexthink Advanced Planning Tools (APT) software for end-user analytics running on Toshiba laptops will be showcased to the channel partners and end-users from the region.

OFAX Document Management Solutions will cater to clients that have to deal with inefficiently managed printing and scanning on daily basis. Document Management Solutions offer a software-based approach to tackle the problem as that is the way to go if a business intends to stay technologically competitive, Chauhan said.

“SDN will move to data security next which will be our forte next year.

We intend to stay abreast of the technology trends underway in the region which is evident in the revenue the group closes every year. For the last three years, we have registered a growth of 40% in revenues year-on-year,” Chauhan said.

ZTE...(PIS), changing from the previous networking mode, where Tetra and WLAN provided separate bearing for different services.

In December 2012, ZTE and Zhejiang Mobile jointly completed the construction of the 4G TD-LTE network covering the Jiaxing Section of the Shanghai-Huangzhou high-speed railway. The project provided the world’s first 4G data download on a train running on a high-speed railway, at a speed of 350km/ph.

The adoption of TD-LTE technology in the communication network of rail has transformed trunking dispatching, which can be used to carry voice and data services, transmit image, video and train-control signals as well as

supporting featured functions for rail communication.

Jane Chen, Senior Vice President, ZTE, said, “ZTE’s industry-leading 4G wireless rail telecommunication technology and

sophisticated smart transportation solutions highlight ZTE’s further success in the rail industry. ZTE has a great deal of experience in rail projects throughout the world, and has been responsible

for many industry-firsts. ZTE will contribute to the construction of green and efficient transportation telecommunication networks in the Middle East and Africa, with the aim to boost regional economic prosperity.”

The ZTE Dedicated LTE Rail Transit Communications System provides LTE-based multimedia trunking dispatch services for the implementation of multimedia video trunking calls between a train driver and a command centre, dispatcher, or maintenance section. Train staff are equipped with smart push-to-talk devices for implementing voice and video trunking calls and various services such as office data, images, and high-definition videos.

“ZTE’s industry-leading 4G wireless rail telecommunication technology and sophisticated smart transportation solutions highlight ZTE’s further success in the rail industry.”

Fluke discusses survey results at GITEX

Kaspersky highlights enterprise security

Fluke Networks are using GITEX to discuss results of a survey reveals that less than 40% of Middle Eastern businesses are adopting cloud; with an additional 22% on the verge of implementing the technology across the region.

Furthermore, 45% of firms prefer a hybrid cloud system, whereas 30% prefer private, while 25% of them have no problem in opting for public cloud environment.

The survey also revealed that over the course of the next 12 months about 40% of regional businesses are looking to implement major cloud and

virtualisation initiatives, along with new application implementations, with a further 12% in the planning stages.

The survey also indicated that 60% of Middle East business establishments raised concern over the security and access to data as key obstacles to adopting cloud.

Also, network downtime was a major concern as 56% of the companies were reluctant to take up cloud services. Legislation concerns gripped 15% of the regions businesses, as 45% questioned where the data servers

would reside.The regional survey conducted

over a period of time, looked at different industry verticals including government, IT, engineering, FMCG, construction, automotive, oil and gas, manufacturing and education.

A worrisome matter for Fluke Networks is that more than 65% of businesses have experienced or suffered 2 to 5 network slowdown or outages in the past 12 months. This could seriously affect the efficiency of the organisation, and more importantly, impact bottom line results.

“The Middle East continues to adopt new technology at an astonishing pace, but companies are still getting the fundamentals wrong, for which they end up paying a hefty price,” says Gerhard Auer, vice president, EMEA, Fluke Networks. “Given the digital age we function in, an optimum network is the backbone of any organisation, or government entity, and at Fluke Networks, we have the means to truly make a difference.”

At GITEX 2014, Fluke Networks will be showcasing its latest products, including, the company’s AANPM solution, the integrated Visual TruView andOptiView XG which was launched in April 2014.

Fluke Networks can be found at Hall 1 Stand 120.

Kaspersky Lab is continuing to focus on enterprise-level IT security in the region, and is showcasing a portfolio of solutions at GITEX.

Key themes to be discussed by Kaspersky Lab experts at the event are changes to the IT security landscape, new trends in the area, and solutions to current and future threats.

Kaspersky Lab’s host of enterprise security solutions is built around the company’s core security intelligence, which encompasses endpoint protection technologies, a cloud-based network of global threat intelligence, and a multi-national team of prominent experts.

The company’s flagship Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business solution is among key topics at Kaspersky Lab’s booth. It is a platform which delivers a broad array of tools and technologies to enable companies to see, control and protect all endpoint devices.

The company will also showcase its recently extended Kaspersky Security for Virtualisation, that helps enterprises deploy the security needed to protect virtualised environments “without sacrificing network performance”.

The issue of threats specifically targeting financial services and online transactions will be addressed, and Kaspersky Fraud Prevention platform will highlighted as a way to combat these threats.

The comprehensive portfolio of Kaspersky Lab’s enterprise security solutions is complemented by Security Intelligence Services which will be touched upon at GITEX. These include threat data analysis and reporting, Botnet tracking, and cybersecurity education programs.
