Burton-on-Trent based Tony Francis is well regarded in the narrow boat world for his tugs and traditional style boats - because they look the part. They have long sweeping elegant lines combined with rugged steelwork. The interior is equally robust - lined out in an African wood called panga panga which is so densely grained it will probably outlive the steel! A large saloon has plenty of space for loose furniture and a bench seat at one end converts into an occasional double berth. In the engine room a robust Perkins D3 diesel provides propulsion and is operated by traditional speedwheel and gear levers. The bedroom aft sports a large wardrobe and a solid fuel boatman’s range.
