Narrowboat Nova Castria Nova Castria has had just one owner since it was first launched. Built by Chris Barney in 1972 - whose boats have become something of a collector’s item - she started life as a 32ft boat with a wooden cabin on a steel hull. In 1988 she had an extra 16ft added by Colecraft and a new steel cabin top added. The BMC diesel engine was also added at this point. The interior was entirely refitted by Bluehaven Marine - one of their first boats. 20 years later the woodwork is still in good order. There are 4 berths - a double on an L-shape dinette and two bunks in the aft cabin. After 36 years on the waterways the owner has reluctantly decided it is time to hang up his windlass. A lovely boat that would make an excellent live aboard for a single person, or for extended cruising.
