This is a translation and in case of difference between the French and English versions, the French language version shall prevail.
The cover is valid in the event of: 1. The death, serious accident or serious illness of the policyholder, the policyholder’s de
jure or de facto spouse, ascendants or descendants to the second degree, parents-in-law, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, as well as any person habitually residing with the policyholder.
2. The death(s) of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces of the policyholder.3. Substantial damage caused by fire, explosion, water or natural forces to the policyholder’s
home or business premises and which requires the policyholder to be present to take the necessary precautionary measures.
4. Theft in the home or business premises of the policyholder, if this theft requires the policyholder to be present and if it occurred in the 48 hours prior to departure.
5. Summons for administrative or professional reasons, under the express condition that the policyholder was unaware of the date of one of the events exhaustively listed hereinafter at the time of booking travel or of the purchase of this cover.
6. Summons of the policyholder before a court as a witness, jury member, or as part of the procedure to adopt a child.
7. Summons of the policyholder for a hearing, expert testimony, or summary.8. The policyholder enters employment or employment agency work experience, provided
that the policyholder is registered as a jobseeker, and excluding the extension or renewal of a contract.
9. Economic redundancy of the policyholder or the policyholder’s de jure or de facto spouse, who are ensured under this policy on the condition that proceedings had not been initiated prior to the purchase of the contract.
10. Non-disciplinary professional transfer of the policyholder, imposed by the hierarchical authority and not at the request of the policyholder.
11. Withdrawal or modification of the policyholder’s paid leave by the employer, where it had been accorded by the employer prior to the booking of travel and purchase of the present contract. This cover does not apply to members of a liberal profession, self-employed workers, or the managers and legal representatives of a company.
12. Theft of the identity card or passport of the policyholder in the 48 hours prior to departure, and leaving the policyholder unable to comply with border police formalities.
13. Contraindication or consequences of a vaccination undergone by the policyholder.14. Cancellation by the person scheduled to accompany the policyholder (co-pilot or pilot)
during travel, registered at the same time as the policyholder and insured under this same contract, when the reason for cancellation is one of the causes listed hereinafter. However, if the policyholder wishes to travel without this person, the insurer will reimburse the additional hotel costs incurred as a result of this cancellation.
The cover is valid subject to the provisions below: 1. Concerning injury and illness:Remain excluded:a - Where a medical examination is not requested: the consequences of any accident
or illness of which the initial findings occurred before the effective date of the present contract;
b - Where a medical examination is requested: the consequences of any accident or illness which have been the subject of medical reservations and/or which were not revealed to the expert physician during the medical examination and which the policyholder had been informed of;
c - The practice of a dangerous sport, air sports, bungee jumping, freestyle skiing and ski jumping, any motorsports competition, including amateur competitions, underwater diving, and any sports competition, except as expressly stated in advance;
d - The use of drugs, or medications which have not been prescribed by a competent medical authority,
e - Alcoholism, drunkenness characterised by a blood-alcohol level exceeding the limit stipulated by the traffic law in force in France on the day damage was callused, when the policyholder is the driver of a vehicle. This limit is restricted to 0.80 grams/litre of blood when the policyholder is not the driver of a vehicle.
f - All psychological or psychiatric disorders for which the policyholder follows or needs to follow treatment;
g - Fatigue and/or physical exhaustion not resulting from illness: h - The direct or indirect consequences or a normal or pathological pregnancy;i - Any travel by plane which does not take place as the passenger of a regular airline or
on the chartered flight of a regular airline approved by the air traffic control authorities, unless it has been approved by the insurer.
j - Suicide or attempted suicide. 2 . In the matter of family bereavement, the cover is valid in the event of:
The death of ascendants, descendants and/or relatives of the first degree, the de jure or de facto spouse of the policyholder, on the conditions that the death takes place during the guarantee period and that the deceased is less than 75 years old. The unavailability of the policyholder is, however, limited to a maximum of 3 days. It is specified that each family member is subject to the same guarantee conditions and exclusions under the contract. The cover begins on the day the policyholder learns of the death of the family member.
