Purpose

The course will introduce various disci-

plines contributing to radiation research.

Insights to physical, chemical, biological

and epidemiological fundamentals in

radiation research will be provided.

These basic principles will be completed

by presenting interdisciplinary

approaches like molecular epidemiology,

biobanking, and micro and nanodosimetry.

The course will help to sensitize to the

feasibility, potential and limitations of

experimental assays and the need for

implementation of multidisciplinary

research approaches.

Lectures

• Basics in Radiation Physics

• Basics in Radiation Biology

• Basics in Radiation Epidemiology

• Micro- and Nanodosimetry

• Molecular Epidemiology

• Applied Radiation Science

• Basics in Statistics

Additionally

• 1 Day Excursion

• Certificate

All lessons will be given by expert

scientists from the BfS, the PTB (National

Metrology Institute) and Uni Goettingen

Laboratory Introduction
