    PepsiCo to set up low-cost foods unit

    Games, launched its new Visual Identity System (VIS) and logo for the

    October 3-14 Delhi extravaganza.

    y Conceptualised on the platform of "Go Dilli, Let Sports Win", the new

    HC gives relief to Godrej, bars soap brand

    "Gandhi No 1

    y The Bombay High Court has restrained Gandhi Soaps and Detergents

    Industries from manufacturing and selling their toilet soap brand

    "Gandhi No 1" as it bears a striking resemblance to rival soap brand

    "Godrej No 1".

    y Gandhi Soaps and Detergents Industries has brought in similar product

    with identical get up and colour scheme so as to cash on the reputation

    of the established mark of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd

    y The court issued notice to Himachal Pradesh-based Gandhi Soaps

    and Detergents Industries to show cause as to why the reliefs claimed

    in the notice of motion moved by Godrej should not be granted.

    Scouting for more global acquisitions:

    Maricoy Marico Industries is looking at buying out more companies

    and brands in the Asian and African regions as part of its

    expansion plan

    y Marico has made three global acquisitions

    y In January, the company bought Malaysian personal care

    brand Code 10 from FMCG giant Colgate-Palmolive for an

    undisclosed sum.

    y It had also bought South African over-the-counter healthcare brand 'Ingwe' last month.

    y Marico acquired Singapore-based personal care firm

    y Officer's Choice Whisky, the single brand from the Kishore Chhabria-

    headed Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABD), is now the tenth-largest

    selling spirit brand in the world, with sales crossing 12 million cases

    y The other two Indian brands already in the list are Bagpiper and

    McDowell No.1, the flagship brands of Vijay Mallya-led United Spirits

    Ltd (USL)

    y Johnnie Walker is ranked eighth with 14.5 million cases, McDowell

    No.1 with 13.5 million cases and Officer's Choice with 12 million cases

    occupy the ninth and tenth slot, respectively. Leading the list of world's

    largest ten brands is the 63 million-case Jinro from South Korea

    y The millionaire brand list is dominated by India with six whisky brands

    figuring in the list of world's top 10Bagpiper, McDowell No.1, Officer's

    Choice, Original Choice, Royal Stag and Old Tavern. Johnnie Walker,

    Jack Daniel's, Ballentine's and Jim Beam are the other brands in the

    list.
