Genoa is a lively city where elegant boutiques, traditionalateliers and bustling outdoor markets offer constantsurprises for even the most demanding of tourists.
Getting to know Genoa also means getting to knowall its different components: the nineteenth centuryneighbourhoods and forts, the fishing villages andholiday resorts located to the east and west, with awealth of villas and picturesque views or the inlandvillages where ancient traditions are still kept alive.
And of course the Aquarium city has plenty to offerfor fans of the sea: well-equipped beaches, nauticalsports.
The city of Genoa welcomes exhibitors and visitors to the 57th Salone Nautico International Boat Show.

Genova “La Superba” – theproud and magnificent city,as it was once known – is acity of art thanks to its monu-ments, but it is also a city
steeped in tradition. To value this tradition, Genoa’sMunicipality, the Chamber of Commerce, the Re-gional Directorate of the Italian Ministry for Cultureand Tourism, the Superintendence, Genoa’s TradeAssociations and Craft Guilds made a list of Old-World Shops. These shops – which developed asa bourgeois phenomenon between 1800s and1900s – are not “monuments”; however, they de-fine the urban identity of the city. A few of theseshops are home to real treasures, furnishings, olddocuments and photographs, antique machineryand work tools, not to mention the fine setting inwhich they are located. 39 shops have obtainedthe acknowledgement we are presenting here sofar, “living monuments” testifying to the fine threadlinking the modern city of Genoa with its past.
