    S c h o o l e w sThis Week At St. Francis Borgia School

    Week of December 23, 2013

Classes are not in session this week due to

    Christmas break. Happy Holidays!

Classes resume on Monday, January 6, 2014.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We thank those who already made their commitments to our Campaign and we remind you that

you can wait for the reminders to come in the mail making your first payments following the instruc-

    tions given by the Archdio-

    cese. After you receive the

instructions in the mail, payments will be

mailed to the Archdiocese as they hold our

parishs account for the Campaign and they

will send us report updates systematically. The

money collected will be released by the Arch-

diocese to fund the projects mentioned in theCampaign case. The success of our Campaign

depends on the participation of us all.

    Yours in Christ,

    Rev. Richard Milek

    Collected Pledged Goal

To Teach Who Christ Is Campaign

An Invitation to PrayerAll are invited Wednesday, January 8, 2014 to the

Stokes Center Mass Chapel. There will be a prayer serviceat 6:45pm with Benediction and the Rosary. Twelve years

ago, our parish began to pray for peace on Wednesday

evenings. We not only pray for peace in the world but for

peace within our neighborhoods and families. When the

Blessed Mother appeared at Fatima she encouraged and

requested that we pray for peace. She has asked this of usin many other apparitions as well. Pope Francis held a

magnificent prayer day on October 12. Thousands

gathered with him at St. Peters Square. People of all

faiths prayed the rosary and adored our Lord in the

Blessed Sacrament for Peace in the world. At that time he

also consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of

Mary. We are inviting you to follow the example of Pope

Francis, and continue this prayer. We must not become

complacent or lose hope even though the war is still

continuing. We need to pray our troops home. St. Francis

Borgia has approximately 30 of our family members now

serving. The Peace Prayer Service will then continue onevery first Wednesday of the month at 6:45 with

Benediction. All are welcomed. Thanking you in advance

for your participation. Ceil Brieske and Jim Guida.

Available for a donation after all masses at the choir area!

    Christmas Cleaning and Decorating

    Helping hands are needed to

clean and decorate our church for

    Christmas. The cleaning and

    decorating will take place

    Monday, December 23 the

whole day beginning at 9:00am.Hope to see you in church!

    Respect Life

The best way for a parish to celebrate Christmasis to rush physically to the side of those in the community

who, like Mary, are uncertain and afraid about their

pregnancy. We are to accompany them through their

pregnancy with support and encouragement, and help

them experience the fact that every birth reflects the joy

    of the birth of Christ.

    Christmas 2013

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Christmas is a time when we think about what is most

important in our lives. It is a time when we direct our

thoughts to God and to the people who are close to

our hearts. It is a time when peace and love are

renewed in our lives and in the entire world. Themain source of this joy and peace is Jesus Christ, who

comes to us and our families as a savior and a friend.

Let us accept him with faith.

These Christmas greetings come from the bottom of

my heart filled with gratitude for your love and care

for St. Francis Borgia Parish. I embrace with my

priestly love and prayers every family, especially

children, the sick, and the homebound. I share with

you the joy coming from the birth of our Lord Jesus

Christ who is the reason of this season.

During this year that is coming to an end we shared

moments of joy, sadness, and concerns for our church

that needs immediate renovation. In the season of

good tidings, I want to share greetings and good news

of approval and support for our renovation from the

Vicar General from the Archdiocese of Chicago. That

was possible thanks to your care and generosity for

St. Francis Borgia Church. We thank you in advance

for your Christmas offerings which will be designated

for the renovation of our church.

On behalf of Fr. Joe, Fr. Marcin, Deacon William,

Seminarian Paul, and our Parish Staff I want to wish

you a Merry and Blessed Christmas and a Happy

    New Year.

    With Prayers and Love,

    Rev. Richard Milek
