SOLEMNITY OF THE
ASCENSION OF THE LORD
May 12, 2013
May is the month when Catholics traditionally focus on Mary, the Mother of Jesus; a logi-
cal time for the celebrations of Mary, who brought life into the world.
Happy Mother’s Day !
——————————————————————————————————————————-
Catholic Saints from Africa
St. Isidore of Chios—Alexandrian officer beheaded for his faith in 251—Feast Day 5/15
St. Julia of Tunisia—A slave girl crucified for her faith (date unknown)—Feast Day 5/22
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS IN PRAYER—Our sons, daughters
and family members are halfway around the world serving our coun-
try. Help support our troops in prayer.
A Mother’s Love is Patient and Forgiving when all others
are forsaking;
it never fails or falters, even though the heart is breaking.
Congratulations to Bishop Terry Steib, on his 20th Anniversary of being the Shepherd of the Diocese of Memphis. Remember him, along with ALL our shepherds, as they go about taking care of us, their flocks!
If someone asks you what you, as a Catho-
lic believe, tell them about the Nicene
Creed which sums up the most important
tenets of our faith. The Catechism of
the Catholic Church is an excellent,
searchable resource to understand all as-
pects of the Catholic faith. If you have
questions, please feel free to contact
Fr. Martin or the office staff.
OFFERING MASSES is a great way to honor
birthdays for the living, and Praying for
your deceased relatives and friends! It
helps those for whom masses are offered,
as well as assisting the church. It is
inexpensive in costs, and rich in rewards
for those alive and in purgatory.
