I AM

From the Principal

Dear Parents

Cross Country

The school’s Faction Cross Country is a Whole School Event held on Wednesday 12th June and I would strongly encourage every child to have a go. The focus of whole school events is on participation and it would be great to see everyone have a go and just do their best. I am sure that everyone who joins in will feel a sense of achievement and enjoyment in being part of this whole school activity.

Carramar’s Cross Country interschool team have been in training and I have been told that they have really applied themselves, with everyone turning up to training and putting in a great effort. It is wonderful to see such commitment from them all.

School Uniform

At the Faction Assembly last Friday, I spoke with the children to clarify the School Dress Code and the expectation when leaving school at the end of the day. I did this because I was advised by the P&C that there was some confusion around which clothing was acceptable. Also, it had been brought to my attention that there was some concern regarding the way students were leaving the school grounds and behaving in the shopping centre.

In regards to the school uniform, the children were informed that they are expected to adhere to the School Dress Code and wear school uniform at all times. However, if they did not have a school jumper or jacket they were allowed to wear a plain blue jumper or jacket without a hood. Below is the description from the School’s Policy.

Clothing – Winter Dress Code Chilli Red Polo shirt/rugby top (no slogans, except for school logo) Navy Blue Zip Jacket (no hoods or slogans, except for school logo) Navy Blue and Gold micro fibre Jacket (no slogans, except for school logo) Navy Blue track pants/cargo pants Navy Blue or White socks (ankle length) Navy Blue tights or navy blue full length leggings (to be worn under a dress, skirt, skort or shorts only) The School Dress Code describes the clothing to be worn and outlines the dress standard. This includes Footwear, Jewellery and Hairstyle. A copy of Carramar’s Dress Code has been attached. Leaving School

I also spoke to the children about the way they leave the school grounds. I explained that it is an expectation that they leave their classroom and the school grounds in an orderly manner. There are many young families and students moving around in big groups or in a boisterous manner can be disconcerting for them. The children were also reminded that while in school uniform they need to continue to display the school’s expectations.

I have been informed that some children are going into the Shopping Centre after school in large groups and some on their scooters and bikes. The children were reminded that they need to consider the public and be respectful. Children who are not with their families are expected to go straight home. This is part of ensuring your child’s safety after school. If they are meeting friends or going elsewhere they should go home first. They should let their parents know where they are going and it would be a good idea to get changed.
