NUR SHRINE CARAVAN
Brother Nobles, family, & friends last year Potentate David Hutchins
asked Ruben Kelly and myself to create and charter the Nur Shrine
Caravan. We got it done but due to crazy hectic times, a super busy
workload, and the Covid pandemic, I’m really just getting moving on
this.
We need Members! Membership is $25.00 annually, but since we are so
late in the year if you join now this will cover you for 2022 also. We
also need board members, Treasure, secretary and others. We need
people that are interested in volunteering to plan trips and fundraisers
and if we can actually pull it off we will need some help with the Chili
Cook Off being held on November 20th during the Nur Shrine Caravan
Boondock Campout.
Please contact me at [email protected] or 302-892-2818 to
join, volunteer or to just make a donation to help us get started.
ALL MEMBERS OF NUR SHRINE IN GOOD STANDING ARE
WELCOME TO JOIN EVEN IF YOU DON’T CAMP
Thank you for your time and consideration
Fraternally,

On Saturday morning, September 11, 2021, George Cowan and his restored 1994 Pontiac TransAM won the 1st Place Show Car Trophy in the MASA Parade at Virginia Beach representing the NUR car club. George found the 1994 TransAM on the side of the road in January 2017. At the time it had 138,696 miles on it and was in poor condition mechanically and physically. The car was extensively restored mechanically at a GM dealership that had previously restored a similar vehicle. The surface of the car was as rough as sand paper so it was blasted and repainted. Decals were purchased and installed to make the car unique. It has now made two trips to Virginia Beach successfully. Congratulations George!!!
For more information on the NUR Car Club please call: Tom Dilworth at 302-234-2501.

LEGION OF HONOR
VETERANS, ACTIVE AND PRIOR SERVICE MEMBERS OF ALL BRANCHES OF MILITARY SERVICE
The Nur Shrine Legion of Honor “LOH” is one of the oldest and most active units in Nur Shrine. How we obtained that status is quite simple – it is the bond formed through having served in the military. We know how to have fun and get things accomplished by working together.
In addition to our monthly meetings, we have several social functions every year all of which include our Ladies. They are Past Commanders and Ladies Night, Commanders Banquet, Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony followed by a picnic. We partially defray the cost of these functions through the two gun shows we work at and sponsor each year. Members participate in various community parades as well as the Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association annual parade. Some members travel to Legion of Honor functions at other Shrine Centers.
Membership Requirements: • Be a Master Mason • Be a member of Nur Shrine • Present proof of military service, DD214 or Military identification card
If you do not meet the first two requirements, ask us and we will help you through the process. If you are ineterested in becoming a member of the Legion of Honor please return this to: Legion of Honor, Nur Shrine, P.O. Box 10085, Wilmington, DE 19850-0085

Calling all Clubs and Units Please help!
The NUR Shrine needs a network upgrade. You may know a “network” is the foundation of any computer system and what connects our administration computers as well as our Wi-Fi to internet.
Why do we need to do this?
Our existing network equipment was donated to us nearly 5 years ago and was over 10 years old when we put it in. While it still works, it is dated and is not able to keep us with today’s technology additionally it is becoming slow and unreliable.
Think about events such as the Gun Show and the Coin Show, these customers use our Wi-Fi to complete transactions and helps us bring new customers.
A new network it will provide us improved security on the internet as well as internally, most importantly it will greatly improve the performance for our administrative offices and to our customers who relay on a good Wi-Fi connection.
What do we need?
We need to raise $2500.00 to complete this network upgrade. We are asking that each club that can donate. Send a check for the amount your able to contribute, no amount is to little. Once we have raised the money, we will begin the upgrade.
If we are lucky enough to raise more than we need for this project, we will set aside the money for the computer committee budget as we do not currently have an operating budget for computer system improvements and purely work off donations. So, do not be afraid to send to much.
Thank you, Ed Reynolds

New Patient Referral Process Approved at Imperial SessionGreat news! It is now easier than ever to refer a patient to Shriners Hospitals for Children®! At the 138th Annual Session in July 2012, the attending delegates approved amendments to the Colorado Bylaws 509.2 and 509.3 which simplified the way for patients to access Shriners Hospitals. Patients/families no longer need to fill out a two-page application form that must be processed before being considered for treatment. While this is a big change for our system and YOU, we want to assure you that our Shriners are more important than ever in finding children that need our help; as well as informing the public about the noble mission of Shriners Hospitals for Children. We need your participation now, more than ever, to reach more patients. This new process makes it easier for our patients and will still allow for engagement with the nobility. Travel and transportation support should not change. Contact your Shrine temple or hospital if you have questions.
This new intake process continues to support your valuable referrals, without the added step of completing a patient application. Instead, simply provide patients/families with the Shriners Hospitals for Children patient referral card, which may be obtained from your hospital or Shrine temple. In addition, a new Patient Referral Form will be forthcoming in the near future. However, the referral card is preferred, with the patient/family calling the hospital’s referral intake line directly. Why? This is the quickest and most convenient way for a patient to get the care they need.
When did this start? In October 2012, Shriners Hospitals simplified the process for our new patients; allowing patients’ immediate scheduling for an appointment if their clinical needs meet the hospital’s scope of service. To avoid any confusion to our patients or the community, temple staff are asked to no longer use the application form and remove any reference to a patient application process in temple materials or website. Thank you for your continued hard work in helping the children. Please contact your local Shriners Hospitals facility if you have any questions.
