What new thing is God doing in your life? We know that He is constantly at work, but sometimes we forget or overlook His work in us. Just as new life springs forth in this season, may God do a new thing in you. Maybe today is the day to pick up the New Year’s resolution of Bible reading daily. Maybe today is the day you sign up at pray4everyhome.com to pray for your neighbors to come to a saving understanding and relationship with Christ. Maybe today is the day you invite someone to become your accountability partner for greater spiritual growth. There are a myriad of new things that God waits to do in your life. Seek His direction and follow Him. FBC-U is shaping up for this summer. This year we are going to focus on the Christian response to world religions. We have a line up of speakers who are former missionaries, seminary professors, and pastoral theologians. We will be looking at how we are to respond in an ever-growing, multi-ethnic and religiously diverse culture. I especially want you to mark your calendars for August 2. Dr. Jim Denison of the Denison Forum on Faith and Culture will be speaking in both of our morning worship services. He will also lead our concluding session of FBC-U regarding Islam. As with all of our FBC-U sessions, I want to encourage you to invite fellow believers to join us as we learn how to have faith conversations with those of other religions. A hearty congratulations is in order for our Children’s and Youth Bible Drill teams and Speaker’s Tournament participant. ALL of our Children advanced to the state drill and ALL of our Youth advanced to the regional drill. Their effort represent months of preparation and practice. Thanks to all of the parents who have encouraged and practiced with your children and youth. Thanks to the coaches who have encouraged, coached, and trained our children and youth to rightly handle the word of truth. David Strawn, Minister of Education

Thanks for all your kind words of affirmation concerning our plans to transition our ministry into retirement under the name The Ministry of Education. We have had a few preliminary conversations with pastors in the area who are considering utilizing the services of The Ministry of Education to discover and train new leaders for their churches and to assist with some technical matters like computerization of church records. We are excited and a little frightened all at the same time. Please pray for us as we try to be faithful to God's calling into this new venture even as we pray for you. Many of you will remember Russ and Victoria Jones who were members of our church for several years. They moved to the Austin area a few months ago with a new job assignment. During their time here, Russ felt God calling him into vocational ministry and I have been working with him, helping him prepare for this new calling. I have been invited to participate in the ordination service for Russ in Round Rock on Sunday, April 19. Russ and Victoria feel God calling them to begin a new work in the south Belton area. He will continue to work in Austin as they start their church called Mosaic Fellowship. Pray for them as they continue to follow God's leading.
