As per the details, Ramban Police on a specific information laid a Naka at T Chowk Banihal and during checking, a truck (JK02 AH 5977) was found with 14 bovines laden in it which were rescued. The driver which was identified as Yoqub Hussain Gujjar, son of Mohd Aslam, resident of Bugyal Haveli Poonch was arrested and a case vide FIR 05/19 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PC Act was registered against him. The arrest and recovery was made by Insp Aejaz Wani and SI Shamim Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma. Man found dead with throat slit STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN: A 30-year-old man was found dead on Sunday with his throat slit at his residence in Ramban district, police said. The body of Purshottam Chand was found inside his house in Ramban's village Chakwa, a police official said. He said police visited the spot and removed the body for post mortem. The body was later handed over to the deceased's family for last rites, he added. Police said a probe is underway to ascertain the sequence of events. Two injured in murderous attack STATE TIMES NEWS R S PURA: A man was seriously injured in a murderous attack in RS Pura area and was immediately shifted to local hospital. According to information, Kuldeep Kumar, resident of Maluwal, R S Pura was attacked by Avneet Singh alias Naagi, resident of Sunderpur, R S Pura and his associates with a sharp-edged weapon in which he was seriously injured. The R S Pura Police taking cognisance of the complaint has registered a case for investigation. Meanwhile, police has launched a search operation to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, Jhajjar Kotli Police also registered a case against Neel Kumar resident of Jindrah on the complaint of Ashok Kumar resident of Jindrah stating therein that Neel attacked him with a sharp edged weapon over an old dispute. Two injured in car-truck collision STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN: Two persons travelling in a car got injured when it met head-on with a truck at Sangaldaan area of Ramban on Sunday. According to reports, a Maruti car (JK02R 9290) on its way from Sangaldaan to main market, meet head-on with a Truck (JK02AJ- 5547) coming from opposite side. Locals and police shifted both injured persons to PHC Sangaldaan, where after first aid both were shifted to District Hospital Ramban. The injured have been identified as Balwan Singh (26), son of Sarban, resident of Bandan and Bori Singh (27), son of Bayang Ram, resident of Barla, Ramban. Police has registered a case in this regard at Police Station Sangaldaan. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: With killings of four heavily armed terrorists and arrests of several others last year, an alert police force and security agencies man- aged to keep in check the spread of terrorists' base in the border district of Rajouri, a senior police officer said on Sunday. The arrested persons included four over-ground workers (OGWs), who were in close contact with Al-Badr commander Zeenat-ul-Islam, killed on Saturday in a gun- fight in Kulgam district of south Kashmir along with his four accomplices, said Rajouri's Senior Superintendent of Police Yougal Manhas. Manhas said the police managed to foil a number of terrorism-related incidents in close coordination with the Army and other security agencies last year and took stern action against people involved in unlawful activities including drug peddling and bovine smuggling. On counter-insurgency front, security forces last year killed four terrorists, who had infiltrated from Line of Control (LoC), he said. The terrorists were killed on the intervening night of March 27 and 28, within days after they infiltrated from Line of Control (LoC), he said. The four infiltrators were tracked down after a three- day operation and neutralised near Sunderbani town. In another significant anti- terrorist operation, the police and 38 Rashtriya Rifles jawans nabbed two ultras in June 2018, he said, adding the ultras had escaped from the valley after snatching a policeman's weapon. They were overpowered and nabbed even as they tried to open fire at security forces at Thannamandi Main Chowk, the SSP said. He said besides these, the police and 48 Rashtriya Rifles, in a joint operation, arrested last year four OGWs running a hawala racket in Rajouri and recovered a huge amount of hawala money from them, he added. These OGWs were in close contact with Al-Badr com- mander Zeenat Ul Islam and engaged in garnering finan- cial support for the terrorist outfit in Rajouri but were arrested by forces," he said. The police also detained 11 anti-social elements under Public Safety Act, the SSP said, adding they were engaged in bovine smuggling and drug peddling besides operating as OGWs for vari- ous terrorist outfits. In its drive against drug peddling, 32 FIRs were regis- tered and 52 persons were arrested across the district following recovery of huge amounts of narcotics from them, Manhas said. Besides these, 109 others, involved in different kinds of unlawful activities including drugs peddling and thefts, were taken into preventive custody on executive magis- trate's orders, the SSP said. The police also opened his- tory sheets for 46 criminals, involved in drug peddling in the district, with an aim to keep a closer watch on them, the officer said. The police last year also arrested 237 people, involved in bovine smuggling and reg- istered 198 cases against them across the district, he said. On traffic management front, the police fined 12,329 erring drivers and collected a revenue of Rs 16,45,415, besides registering a total of 116 cases of accidents and overloading of vehicles last year, he said. On delivery of public serv- ice, the SSP said, the police received 7,648 requests for passport verifications and disposed them all within stip- ulated period, besides con- ducting 2,454 service verifi- cations in a time-bound man- ner last year. The police also verified and issued 811 LoC permits last year, besides issuing 1,507 character certificates to can- didates applying for various government and other jobs. The police also managed to apprehend 33 absconders last year, he added. The SSP said the police also held 178 interaction meetings with public across the district in 2018 with an aim to secure people's cooper- ation and assure them of police readiness to help them in time of needs. ‘Four terrorists killed, several others arrested in Rajouri in 2018’ STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) has launched major snow clearance opera- tions on various roads under its control in Rajouri and Poonch districts which got closed due to snowfall on Saturday and Sunday. An official of GREF said that various roads including Thannamandi DKG Surankote road, Budhal Mahore Gool road, Poonch Mandi Saujiyan road besides several others got closed due to snowfall on Saturday. He added that soon after the snowfall, some of the roads were cleared for traf- fic on Saturday late evening hours while few others were restored for traffic on Sunday morning. He applauded the efforts of GREF CP workers and said that entire men and machinery of GREF is working tirelessly in these snow clearance operations. He further said that traf- fic on Thannamandi DKG Surankote road is still affected due to snowfall while operation is going on at full pace to clear the road while a couple of other roads will be cleared for traffic in next few hours. He said that GREF is working tirelessly to ensure that snow clearance opera- tions conclude at the earliest on pending axis and traffic is restored on all the snow bound roads. Shifting of garbage dumping station demanded STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: Members of Sustainable Development and Environment Protection Mission (SDEPM) called on DC Poonch Rahul Yadav and urged him stop practice of dispos- ing all the waste of Poonch City near the river Poonch and make arrangements for proper solid waste management. "Dumping of solid waste/ garbage near running River Poonch is a major cause of concern for everyone" they said adding that "we request DC Poonch to at least identify a suit- able location to shift the dumping site temporarily till the Complete Solid Waste Management Plant is established at Poonch". STATE TIMES NEWSRAJOURI: GeneralReserve Engineering Force(GREF) has launchedmajor snow clearance opera-tions on various roads underits control in Rajouri andPoonch districts which gotclosed due to snowfall onSaturday and Sunday.

An official of GREF saidthat various roads includingThannamandi DKGSurankote road, BudhalMahore Gool road, PoonchMandi Saujiyan roadbesides several others gotclosed due to snowfall onSaturday.

He added that soon afterthe snowfall, some of theroads were cleared for traf-fic on Saturday late eveninghours while few others were

restored for traffic onSunday morning.

He applauded the effortsof GREF CP workers andsaid that entire men andmachinery of GREF isworking tirelessly in thesesnow clearance operations.

He further said that traf-fic on Thannamandi DKGSurankote road is stillaffected due to snowfallwhile operation is going onat full pace to clear the roadwhile a couple of other roadswill be cleared for traffic innext few hours.

He said that GREF isworking tirelessly to ensurethat snow clearance opera-tions conclude at the earlieston pending axis and trafficis restored on all the snowbound roads.

The main attraction ofLohri in Bhadarwah wasthe bonfires which were litin all areas and people gath-ered while singing anddancing around it.

The meeting was attend-ed by representatives fromeach block, active membersand NHM employees of thedistrict.

Tramboo said that morethan 12,000 NHM employ-ees of the State have beenwaiting anxiously for theirregularisation but it isunfortunate thatGovernment is not consid-ering their case.

During the course of dis-cussion, it was observedthat most of the issues arestill lingering on thoughthe union in this regardhas submitted representa-tions to previous regimesand Governor's adminis-tration.

"Dumping of solid waste/ garbage near running RiverPoonch is a major cause of concern for everyone" they saidadding that "we request DC Poonch to at least identify a suit-able location to shift the dumping site temporarily till theComplete Solid Waste Management Plant is established atPoonch".
