ThebottombackoftheentryformMUSTbefilledoutwiththeJunior’sinformation,includingAKCnumber,inorder for the entry to be accepted. Call the American Kennel Club to obtain a number. (919) 816-3595. At Specialty shows, the dog handled must be of the breed for which the show is held. There must be competition in order for Best Junior to be awarded. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT PERMITTED.

Entry fees are free for Juniors as a second entry for the dog,$5 as a Jr. Showmanship entry only.

NOVICE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.OPEN CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice Class. Juniors which according to their records have completed therequirementstocompeteintheOpenclassbutwhosestatusisunconfirmedbytheAmericanKennelClubare limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records.MASTER CLASS. This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the dayoftheshow,andwhohavewon10firstplacewinsinanOpenclasswithcompetitiontobeeligibletoenterthe Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year.

NOTE: Bred By Exhibitor (BBE) Class Eligibility1. Dogs entered in Bred by Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with AKC, as of the date for the show.2. The person handling the dog must be both a breeder of record and an owner of record of the dog3. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record.4. In subsequent classes for which the BBE dog may become eligible, there are no restrictions as to who may handle.

NON-REGULAR - SINGLE DOG CLASSES (for dogs & bitches)

• Coursing Dog Class • Veteran Class - Class Divisions: 7-10 yrs. 10 yrs-12 yrs. 12yrs. & over

Open to all Saluki seven (7) years old and over on the day of the show. Judging will take place after regular Dog or Bitch classes, prior to Best of Breed judging. A Champion may be entered in both Veteran and Best of Breed classes, however, if the dog is defeated in the Veteran class, he may not compete in BOB. NOTE: AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows. Chapter 11. Section 8. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are allowed to compete in Veterans Classes only at independent specialties and/or those all-breed shows which do not offer any competitive classes beyond Best of Breed. These are each independent specialties. Winners of these Veteran classes are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed ring.

NON-REGULAR - MULTIPLE DOG CLASSES (for dogs & bitches)Stud Dog Class - For Stud Dogs and two (2) but not more than six (6) of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog class and shown in the ring with his Get. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the Regular or Non-Regular classes at the normal entry fee, with ‘Stud Dog’ class indicated on the entry form in the space for additional classes at an additional $20 for the Stud Dog class. Or, the Stud Dog may be entered in Stud Dog class ONLY for a $25 entry fee.

The Get MUST be entered in one of the Regular Classes, but there is no additional entry fee for them as participants with their sire in this non-regular class. The merits of the Stud Dog are not considered in the placement of the entry. The Get only will be judged, on the merits of the Get. Therefore, the winners of these classes are not eligible to compete for Best of Breed or for Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed.

GET are NOT names on the entry form.All get must be examined and gaited. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in

the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require itsdisqualificationorbeingexcusedundertheDogShowRules,AKCpolicyorthestandardfortheBreed.

NOTE: AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows. Chapter 11. Sect. 8. A castrated male may be entered as Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.

Brood Bitch Class - Same as Stud Dog Class except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog, Produce for Get.

Brace Class -EffectiveJanuary1,2005.AbraceisdefinedbyAKCastwo(2)dogsofthesamerecognizedbreedor variety that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace competition must have at least one common owner. The dogs comprising the Brace must be named at the time of the entry. Entry fee is $25 for the pair. Specify ‘Brace Only’ on each dog’s entry form. If either dog that is to be part of a Brace is entered in another class, specify ‘Brace’ in the ‘Additional Class’ section on the entry form; the fee is $20 for the pair. Neither of the dogs in the pair is required to be entered in a regular class.

Summer Splash - Prizes & Awards

8 Saluki Summer Specialties

Unless otherwise noted, prizes & awards are donated through the generosity of the individual clubs. Trophies, prizes and monetary awards will be awarded in the judging ring to the person exhibiting the dog, who will be considered to be the owner or agent of the owner. All claims for trophies and other prizes must be made in the judging ring before the completion of the judging of the breed, and the Show Chairperson advised at once of any discrepancy. The Show Secretary and show-giving club disclaim any liability for such prizes after the judging of the breed is over.

No award will be mailed. The Saluki Club of America and the Empire Saluki Club each reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value should a prize not be available.

The Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition is for dogs that are four months of age and over but under six months on the day of the event. Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. Class will not be divided by sex in this competition. Puppies ban-daged, taped, glued or stitched anywhere including ears or tail will not be judged.

The winner of Best of Breed will be awarded points toward the CM title based on the number of dogs defeated in breed, and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed winner based on the number of dogs defeated in their sex. The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers.

All dogs that are owner-handled and are not solely owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the re-quirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry on the entry form.Eligibledogswillbe� � � � �byanasteriskinthesteward’sbook&thecatalog.Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible own-er. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry will be made.• Post-dated Checks and Returned Checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a collec-tion fee to the amount of each returned check or declined debit or credit card.• No refund for duplicate entries.Everyeffortwillbemadeto� �duplicateentries,however,ifanentryhasbeenprocessed, no refund will be made.• An Administrative Fee of $4.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to closing.
