Jesus spent 40 days alone in a dessert, abstaining from food

and noise and distraction

1. They recognise that God will lead them into seasons of growth, not gratification




2. They fight battles and overcome temptations to take

shortcuts




3. They learn discipline and the art of depending on God




4. They are broken of self-sufficiency and

self-promotion




5. They solidify their sense of mission




6. They gain perspective




7. They are prepared to enter their vocation

Prayer Focus• Father, In the name of Jesus, I

surrender myself to walk in the Word. Your word living in me produces the Life in this world.

• The word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It makes my way plain before me.

• I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation – the Living Word of God! Amen
