It’s the story of Thothand Prince Setna.

Once there lived a prince called Prince Setna.

There was nothing that Prince Setnacould not read or write.

One day he read about Prince Neferkeptah who had lived long ago.Prince Neferkeptahhad read the Book of Thoth, whose magic taught people how to speak with animals.

Setna longed to learn the ancient wisdom contained in the Book of Thoth.

Setna went to Prince Neferkeptah’s tomb and there, on the prince’s mummy, lay the Book of Thoth.Sample Slide

She told Setna that Thoth had drowned her husband and son in the Nile and from then on, the Book of Thoth had brought their family bad luck. Setna didn’t listen to her warnings and he took the book.

It wasn’t long before Setna began to have terrible dreams. He dreamt that his children were killed and his wife had become a beggar. Fearing that his nightmares would come true, he returned the Book of Thoth to the tomb.

Setna laid the book on the mummy of Prince Neferkeptahand it still rests there, unread, to this day.
