THE BRITISH COUNCIL HELD
PRINCIPALS’ FORUM
The British Council in Bangladesh hosted their first annual Principals’ Forum at the British Council auditorium in Dhaka on Thursday, 27 September 2018. This networking event brought together educational leaders from the British Council’s 130+ Partner Schools Global Network (PSGN) schools in Bangladesh – the schools that partner with the British Council to deliver UK school qualifications, partners from the awarding bodies Cambridge Assessment International Education and Pearson Edexcel, as well as the decision-making body of the British Council.
Sebastian Pearce, Director Examinations
Bangladesh, British Council shared the updates on
the development opportunities offered by the
British Council to its Partner Schools Global
Network (PSGN). With the aim to promote child-
safe schools and to raise awareness among the
school leaders, a Child Protection awareness
session was conducted by Tanzina Akter, Child
Protection Manager, British Council. The session
covered vital child protection issues faced and
addressed in the schools and emphasised on the
establishment and practice of formal child
protection policies and procedures in the
institutions.
Dr Ainun Nishat, a recognised pioneer in water resource and climate change specialist in Bangladesh, was present at the event as chief guest. He gave an inspirational talk on his views regarding the importance of a safe and healthy environment and how our actions can impact the future surroundings of the coming generations. Dr Nishat urged teachers, students and leaders in the field of education to be aware of climate change and its and act responsibly for the sustenance of a better future.
The Principals’ Forum is a flagship event for senior
school stakeholders. The British Council provides a
chance for them to come together in their efforts to
further their goals for academic excellence and
improved learning outcomes for students of the British
school system in Bangladesh.
A DIFFERENT WAY TO ASSESS
OUR STUDENTS
In order to make students’s lives less stressful and
more enjoyable, the academic authority decided to
change Assessment # 2 of term 1 for assingnments and
projects instead; we gave them 3 extra days of
holidays and the option to get help from parents if
necessary. Teachers were extremely happy to see the
effort from the majority of our students once they
submitted their assingments.

WORLD TEACHER’S DAY 2018
Also known as International Teachers Day, World Teachers Day. The event has consistently been held on October 5 since 1994 after the UNESCO recommendation concerning teachers and the goal is the same: to honour educators’ associations around the world. Our school celebrated the teacher’s day occasion and appreciate their efforts.
Teachers play an extraordinary part in the lives of children for the
formative years of their development and the importance of
teachers is something that cannot be understated. They involve
themselves in moulding students to become successful in career
and business, and to become responsible citizens of their country.
Teachers know that students are the future of any nation.

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY INVITATION
The Philippine Embassy invited our principal to an exhibit
of “PINTA 2018, Ang Galing ng Batang Pinoy, Ipagmalaki
saan Mang Bansa” on Friday 19th October 2018 at the
embassy. The PINTA exhibit was an initiative of the
embassy to inspire young minds to discover the Philippines
through art. Various artistic works of 11 Filipino children
were presented. The exhibit was a product of an intensive
two-days creative experience guided and mentored by a
Filipino educator and artist who has succeeded in getting
the best out of each child. In this event the work of our
student of year 4, Md. Zayed Reza Matel Haque, was
displayed for the enjoyment of its guests.
