The Picts were a confederation of tribes who lived in Pictland before the Roman conquest of Britain. They spoke Pictish language.

Pictland be turned into Scotland. With that, the Picts became Scots.

The culture of the Picts wasn’t very different from Galeics and Anglo – Saxons.

They settled near the streng this or religious foundation. There were not towns until the 12th century.

The houses were round, with rectangular rooms. Churches were of stone or wood.

The Picts used water mill and furnaces in they daily lives.

The Picts were farmers. They had many pigs and sheeps, which used the wool. The rich had horses too.

They grew: wheat, barley, oats and rye. Vegetables included kale, cabbage, onions,

leeks, peas, beans, turnips and carrots.

At first, seemed to Celtic polytheism, al though nothing remains of that time.

The date at which the Pictish converted to Christianity is uncertain.

At this time, the nobility had they own churches.

Art

Art was similar to Celtic and then, to the Insular.

It appears on stones, metals and small objects of stone and bone scattered throughout Pictland.

Language

The Picts language has not survived.

In that language were the names of places and people.

At first, it seemed that was Celt.
