A Message from the Principal Team
Dear Families
Yet another busy week has passed in the lead up to the end of term 4. Planning for 2019 is well underway, with some final decisions to be made in the coming days.
3/4 Camp: Last week the 3/4 students attended the final camp of the year at Campaspe Downs, staying from Wednesday to Friday in the beautiful Kyneton bushland. Despite the chilly weather, the students had a wonderful time participating in a variety of fabulous actives, including the massive flying fox zip line! The food was also a highlight and students enjoyed the exciting night time actives including a disco and movie night. Well done to all of the students for their fantastic behaviour and attitude on camp! It was great to hear how all students displayed such strong initiative, resilience and team work skills for the duration of the camp, forming ever closer friendships with their peers and positive memories with their teachers. Thank you to all of the wonderful teachers and parent helpers who attended the camp, as well as Mr Fearn for his ongoing dedication to delivering such engaging and memorable outdoor education experiences for our students!
Bike Ed Trail Rides: The grade 5/6 students hit the ‘Say G’Day Trail’ this week, as a part of their Bike Education Program for P.E with Mr Fearn. The trail weaves its way through bush and pops in and out of Wandong and Heathcote Junction’s quiet streets. The area was originally home to the Taungurung people who moved between the mountainous areas and the tributaries of the Goulburn River depending on the season. The rides were a great success, giving students a taste of what the ‘Tour De Wallan’ ride will entail next week and testing their capabilities during the up hill climbs and downward slopes of the trail.
National Championships: Our national gold medalist Kirra Wright attended the Australian National Championships this week to compete again for the title of National Champion in the 100m and 200m sprint and long jump. She was cheered on by her family and friends, along with Mr Fearn, Mrs Smith and Mrs Cole. As always, Kirra’s determination and courage shone through and she placed an incredible 2nd in both sprints and 4th in the long jump, bringing home two more medals to add to her collection. Kirra also broke the School Sports Australia 100m record with a time of 16.73 seconds in the girls 10 years 100m T38 category. What an amazing effort, Kirra! We are all so proud of how you push yourself to constantly achieve your goals no matter what!!
School Council: Members of our school council met again on Monday night to begin tying up our school ’s end of year business matters. Amongst a number of agenda items, was the ratification of two policies- our ‘Child Safety’ policy and ‘Child Safety Code of Conduct’ to which no major changes were required. Council members were also given a brief update regarding contracts for our up and coming Masterplan build and also approved the selection of fundraisers put forth by PAFA for 2019.

2019 Uniform Orders If you have placed a uniform order and have yet to collect your items, please do so as soon as possible.
All orders have been packed and are ready for collection.
If you are yet to place your uniform order for your 2019 foundation student, we will not be able to guarantee supply before the end of the school year. With only four ‘uniform processing days’ left for the school year, please ensure you place your orders as a priority to avoid any disappointment. We advise
that Administration staff will not be able to process any uniform orders over the holiday break or on book pick up day and we want to ensure all of our students are ready for the year ahead.
A friendly reminder that all orders and payment for 2019 Grade 6 Uniform are due on 5th December. Ordering by this date will allow us to submit your order prior to Christmas and
enable earlier delivery in the new year.
