STEP 2. There a re fr ont, midd le and rear bra ckets f or this vehicl e.  Front bra ckets have two ho l es on the side o f the veh icl e en d of bracket.  The holes shou l d face the rea r of the veh icl e.  They are u sed for the wire ha rness. SEE FIGURE 1 . STEP 3. There a re three factory plugs on the inside rocker pa nel.  Starti ng fr om th e fr on t, remove p lugs fr om locations 2 a nd 3 . SEE FIGURE 2. STEP 4. Starting wit h the front l oca ti on , place the mo un t pl ate b ehind th e jack l oca ti on a nd a li gn wi th the inside rocker pan el and fasten with 2 tek screws. SEE FIGURES 3 AND 4. STEP 5. Secure front bracket to the mo unt plate using a 5/16 ” hex bo lt , f lat washe r and fl an ge nut.  Leave loose . SEE FIGURE 5. STEP 6. For the two midd l e locations, alig n the hole in mou nt plate wit h factory rocker pane l ho le and secure with 2 tek screws. SEE FIGURE 6. STEP 7. For the two m iddle l oca tions, place the rocker bolt wi th a p l astic tab into the factory rocker hole. SEE FIGURE 7. Push th e plastic t ab to contact rock er an d h old the bo l t i n p l ace. NOTE:  S lide bo lt as far up as p ossible. STEP 8. Att ach bracket t o rocket pan el and moun t plate wi th 5/16” h ex bolt and f l ange nuts.  Leave loose. STEP 9. I n the re ar location, place ½ ”an chor bolt wi th the larger plasti c tab into the factory ti e do wn ho le. STEP 1. Remove the contents from the box and check for any da mage.  Verify all parts against the parts list.  Read and understand ins

before beginning installation.

STEP 2. There are front, middle and rear brackets for this vehicle.  Front brackets have two ho les on the side of the vehicle end of bracke

holes should face the rear of the vehicle.  They are used for the wire harness.SEE FIGURE 1 .STEP 3. There are three factory plugs on the inside rocker panel.  Starting from the front, remove p lugs from locations 2 a nd 3 .SEE FIGUR

STEP 4. Starting with the front location, place the mount plate behind the jack location a nd a lign with the inside rocker panel and fasten with

screws. SEE FIGURES 3 AND 4.

STEP 5. Secure front bracket to the mount plate using a 5/16” hex bolt, flat washe r and flange nut.  Leave loose.SEE FIGURE 5.

STEP 6. For the two middle locations, align the hole in mount plate with factory rocker panel hole and secure with 2 tek screws. SEE FIGUR

STEP 7. For the two middle locations, place the rocker bolt with a p lastic tab into the factory rocker hole. SEE FIGURE 7. Push the plastic

contact rocker and hold the bolt in p lace. NOTE:  S lide bo lt as far up as p ossible.

STEP 8. Attach bracket to rocket panel and mount plate with 5/16” hex bolt and flange nuts.  Leave loose.

STEP 9. In the rear location, place ½ ”anchor bo lt with the larger plastic tab into the factory tie down hole. SEE FIGURE 8.

STEP 10. Place the provided tow hook into position.  Follow that by placing the rear bracket into position.  Attach to anchor bolt with

washer and nut.  Leave loose.SEE FIGURE 9.

STEP 11. Place 4 squa re head bo lts into outer slots and 4 into inner slots of the aluminum support of the boa rd.  On lighted running boa rds

center slot to run wiring ha rness.

STEP 12. Place the board onto the mount brackets.  Center the board and adjust the brackets to the proper height.   Fasten the boar

brackets by using 8 nylock nuts and washers.  Use 2 tek screws to fasten the front brackets to the rocker panel.SEE FIGURE 10 .

NOTE:  If using the l ighted boa rds, you can e nter the pas senger compa rtment through the rubb er gromm et next

front bracke t.  SEE FIGURE 11 .   Use your best judgem ent in routing the wire harness .  The fuse box is under

abo ve the passen ger sidekick pa nel.  Use the te st l ight to find the hot lead a nd ground.  NOTE:  There is a black

the right side o f the fuse b ox.  Try the violet POS an d green with yellow strip for NEG.

INSTALLING THE LIGHTS & WIRING HARNESS TO YOUR STEP BOARDS (FOR LIGHTED VERSION)

STEP 13. A three piece wiring harness is included with the Lighted Step Board.  The ha rness includes four (4) light sockets and three

Carefully plan a wire route from the right side Step Board to the left.  Then choose a pass-through point (floor board to innecab) for the wire harness. NOTE:  WESTIN RECOMMENDS YOU USE A PROFESSIONAL TO INSTALL THE

WIRING HARNESS.   SEE STEPS 15-19.

STEP 14. Attach wire harness and lights.  Be sure rubber seals are in place before installation.  The rubber grommet around the red

blue wires going into rear sockets should be completely inserted and recessed about 1/4” NOTE:  To ensure the longevi

your l ights, remove the bulb and p lace a sm all amount o f white grease into the s ockets and replac e the bu lb.

Place a sma ll am ount of RTV Silicone where th e wires go into the s ocket.  This keeps th e sockets dry and ad

to longevity. Screw lights into each end of the board and run conduit in center slot of aluminum base board.  This will hol

harness in place.

STEP 15. GENERAL TIPS FOR WIRING HARNESS INSTALLATION.   NOTE:  The light wiring h arne ss insta llation re

splicing into vehicles electrical system.

STEP 16. After choosing a pass-through point for cab harness (STEP 13.), follow this sequence:  Route long lead harness to short lead

harness and plug connectors securely. NOTE:  Avoid area s of excess hea t, vibration, pinch or rotation when sec uharnes s to vehicle.

STEP 17. Plug open-ended connection into unused connection.  Either connector on short lead board harness will work.  Route ope

ended wire harness through truck cab.  Find the closest position to door light switch lead wire.  Seal pass-through holes wi

silicone or permanent sealer.

STEP 18. Connect positive and negative lead wires to vehicle sources (dome light or courtesy light under dash).  Use vehicle doo r swi

for ground lead source and a ppropriate positive lead for supply. NOTE:  Always use a fuse d po sitive (+ ) power sou r

STEP 19. Test circuit for proper function and connection before tape sealing all exposed wires.
