Personal Ideas about EMAS

• EMAS is hard to read for non professionals (language not adapted, still seems a law)

• Environment Care is the objective, Verification is not

• Better to perform fine than write well

• Too many papers

• Do not match well with services Org

• Verification is not an exam

Personal experiences with regard to Verification

• Get the gist of the Organization• Do not follow stereotyped

questionnaires. Put enthusiasm in the audit

• Go to the deep feelings of the Org• The audited team could be a non

professional one, the auditors have to be aware of that

• The audited system has to fit with the Org in a “natural” way
