Reception, Form 1 and 2 had a great trip to Harlow Carr gardens last week. Reception had a colour hunt in the grounds to try and find as many natural colours as they could. They were challenged to find enough colours to make a rainbow! With the
different colours that they collect-ed they made beautiful, colourful pictures. They loved exploring the grounds and all the storybook char-acters hidden in the gardens. They saw the BFG and the scary troll under the bridge!
Forms 1 and 2 were continuing to learn about the senses and were
asked to collect flowers and sprigs from plants to make our own
perfume.
Our Sports Day is on Friday 26th May.
Races will commence at 1.00 pm All families welcome please bring picnics and chairs for a sunny afternoon!!
Please do not send bags, blazers or caps with the children on this day and send them in their
PE kit and track suits.
Pre School children who do not normally attend on Friday afternoon and would like to take part please bring them to the pre school playground at 1.45 pm dressed in shorts and tee shirts
and trainers and their own water bottle.

profit organisation who provide care, support and essential items to children affected by pov-
erty.

Topics/Themes
Little Adventurers are continuing to look at mini beasts with a focus on
looking at the life cycle of a butterfly. We will also be practising our races,
ready for sports day.
Great Explorers are continuing with our Travel and Transport theme and this week will be looking at postcards and what they are used for. We will
try writing a postcard and send it home: we are hoping to walk into
Burley and visit the Post office too ! Great Explorers also have Forest
School on Thursday morning.
Reception enjoyed their day at Harlow Carr. They were very well behaved
and interested in the whole day. They also have a Forest Schools workshop
on Thursday this week.
Sports Day We will be practising for Sports Day over the next week and it would be useful if the children had a pair of trainers to keep at school until the end of term. We look forward to
seeing you all on Friday afternoon and let’s hope the sun shines !!

The Great Explorers walked up to the tarn on Ilkley Moor to look at the tadpoles.
We also walked down to Burley Beach. The children spotted lots of letters that we have been learning!
Little Adventurers have enjoyed exploring the garden, using microscopes to investigate the creatures and their habitats. They also created some amazing pictures using natural objects.
Reception had a lovely trip to Harlow Carr Gardens
