Airport Overview
The airport is located in Malang district, East Java Province, about 76 km from Surabaya city the capital of East Java province, and 17 km from Malang city. The airport was originally used as an operating base by the Indonesian Air Force, and civil aviation activities used the terminal inside the air force base for passenger service. On 30 December 2011 a new terminal was opened separating the civil aviation terminal from the air force base.
