Dr. Miaozong Wu is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP®) and holds ARMTM designation(Associate in Risk Management). Wu serves as the M.S. OSM Program Coordinator, FacultyAdvisor for the Association of Student Industrial Hygienists (ASIH), one of core facultymembers of the First Year Seminar (FYS) Team, and a member for several committees atUCM. Wu also volunteers at several professional organizations, including ASSP (AmericanSociety of Safety Professionals), ABET and SAE International. In addition to his interest andpassion in teaching, Wu has devoted his time to developing new projects and trainingstudents in research focusing on occupational safety and health. After earning his Ph.D.degree from Virginia Tech and prior to his career at UCM, Wu joined Marshall University inWest Virginia, where he has successfully developed several research projects funded byNASA (2011-2017) and private sectors to investigate musculoskeletal disorders, and alsoserved as the Director of CDN’s Translational Research Division and the ResearchCoordinator of Endocrinology Fellowship Training Program. Wu currently collaborates withindustrial experts to work on a recent OSHA-funded grant to improve electrical safetyamong wind energy workers.

Jacalyn Leake is a second year clinical Marriage and Family Therapy specialization graduatestudent in the University of Central Missouri’s M.S. in Human Development and FamilyScience program. Jacalyn is a nontraditional student who is married and has two children. In2018, Jacalyn received a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia College and is both a CertifiedClinical Trauma Professional and Certified Family Trauma Professional. Jacalyn is the co-president of the Central Council for Human Development and Family Science at UCM andenjoys being involved in the Central Missouri community. Jacalyn is an MFT student therapistat the University of Central Missouri’s Clinic for Individual, Couple, and Family Therapy andis also an intern at a local domestic violence shelter, Survival House, providing individual,family, and group therapy and psychoeducation for both residents and outreach clients. AtSurvival House, Jacalyn has worked to design, implement, and facilitate multiple in-housetherapy groups and a LGBTQ+ outreach support group. Jacalyn is excited to be attending theCouple and Family Therapy Ph.D. program at the University of Iowa this fall and looksforward to being a part of the LGTBQ+ clinic there.
