About SproutSprout Therapeutic Riding and Education Center is a Loudoun County non-profit that is dedicated to changing lives through partnerships with horses. Sprout exists to serve individuals with physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs. We workfor people who need support to walk, talk, learn and connect with others. We believe that allpeople should have access to a robust life filled with love, opportunities and dignity. We chooseto use our energy and our talents to better the lives of others. In a community where limitationsand restrictions abound, we are the POSSABILITARIANS! Sprout is dedicated to serving individuals with special needs, currently ranging in age from 18months to over 80 years of age (although there is no upper limit). Our students come to uswith a wide variety of diagnoses and live in the greater Northern Virginia area to includeArlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William counties. Currently,Sprout serves a population of 135 weekly clients, numerous community organizations, localchurches, adaptive groups, and scouts. Some of the most common diagnoses that Sprout serves are: Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD,Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delays, Down Syndrome, FetalAlcohol Syndrome, Emotional Disabilities, Sensory Processing Disorders and Traumatic BrainInjuries. At Sprout, we have an equal passion for our horses and our people. Our horses are theembodiment of hope, the fulfillment of dreams and the opportunity for freedom in an otherwiseconfined world of disability. Our horses are the great mediators between where people are andwhere they want to go. They have a unique gift to transform despair into joy, confinement intoability and isolation into community. Our horses bond with people in ways that change theirlives forever. Our goal is to subsidize more than 50% of each student’s participation costs. Your contributionmakes this possible. Sprout relies on monetary and in-kind donations, volunteer manpower toprovide ongoing high-quality therapeutic programs that our disability community can rely on.We are the guardians of hope and possibility because of the generous support of our donors.
