HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

Woodhill Sands is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy event for all staff, and to providing the information, training and supervision needed to achieve this. We will take all practicable steps by;

Providing a safe event, safe equipment and proper materials Identifying and monitoring hazards and using the hazard management hierarchy

of eliminate, isolate or minimise. Insist upon establishment of safe methods and best practices Comply with all H&S legislation, regulations and codes of practice

We will take responsibility for health and safety procedures, however, ALL PEOPLE ON THIS SITE need to be aware of their responsibilities and comply with the event’s health and safety policy. COMPETITORS will be responsible for themselves at ALL times by observing safe practices and rules/instructions relating to their competition. Every person involved in Woodhill Sands events is encouraged to play a vital and responsible role in maintaining a safe and healthy event through: • Being involved in the event health and safety system. • Following correct procedures. • Safe and proper use of equipment. • Wearing protective clothing and equipment as and when required. • Reporting any pain or discomfort as soon as possible. • Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported. • Help new employees, trainees and visitors to understand the right safety proce­dures and why they exist. • Informing the office immediately of any health and safety concerns. Keeping the event facilities tidy to minimise the risk of any trips and falls. REGISTRATION RIDERS Introductory members ( casual memberships of $15 per day) may be used to com­pete in Introductory class (jumping) only (80cm and under for ponies and 90cm and under for Horses – Named INTRO) if not registered as an ESNZ rider. (results will not be recorded with ESNZ) All other riders must be full members with ESNZ.

REGISTRATION HORSES JUMPING This is a ESNZ Jumping show, all horses should be registered for Show Jumping with SJNZ. All horses must pay $5 jumping levy per show (Compulsory) Horses not registered with SJ NZ may jump in Intro classes or Ponies to 1metre and Hors­es to 1.10m in Open classes with a $20 casual jumping levy paid—They cannot compete in series classes and will not be eligible for HOY points in SH.

PAYMENT— IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!! To avoid late fees payment should be made by close of entries to : The Woodhill Sands Trust Account: 12-3019-0013702-00 With the riders surname as reference. No rider will be able to compete at the show without entries being paid for prior to riding.

SCRATCHING/ REFUNDS Entries withdrawn before close of entry are entitled to a FULL refund of all fees ex­cept their online entry fee without vet or dr. certificate. After close of entries riders must present a doctor or vet certificate to be awarded a refund of 75% of entry fees. Accounts not paid prior to close of entry will still be charged if scratched/ or a no show without paying. On Line entry fee is non refundable irrespective on when scratching.

LATE ENTRIES/CLASS CHANGES Late entries are accepted. Riders will jump first in draw order classes Riders will have a 50% late entry fee charged per round. Class Changes will incur a $3 class change fee if not done via equestrian entries.

PRIZE MONEY/REFUNDS Will be paid out at the conclusion of show to the bank account number on your equestrian entries account - (less any balance that might be owing the show if appli­cable) Please make sure your bank account information is up to date.

OFFICE Opens at 8am Show Jumping . Class changes/entries maybe made on line at anytime.

Venue Rules - Help us keep you safe! No Dogs. No passenger cars parked in float/truck park (park on grass by toilets or on grass outside gates) No tying horses to fences! No leading from horse back. No horses on sand track behind office or in front of kiosk. Red tagged helmets must be worn at all times whilst mounted. Curfew of 10pm no one should be in area around jumping arenas or office after this time - please no loud stereos after this time.
