Acknowledgment We acknowledge that we are on traditional lands of the Kulin Nation. We offer our respects to the Elders of these traditional lands and, through them, to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our VisionFor creativity and collaboration to drive social, cultural and artistic vibrancy in Australian communities.

Our MissionWe collaborate with artists, communities and businesses to build capacity, create opportunities and drive social change. We are the place where important conversations happen.

We are both:

1. A community-led, contemporary arts centre delivering diverse and high quality events and programs.

2. A state-of-the-art cultural facility producing and presenting culturally rich programs, artist opportunities and creative works that are representative of contemporary Australia.

Our HistoryFCAC was established in 1974 by a group of artists and community activists with a clear agenda of access for all. This group of founders and pioneers successfully advocated to state and federal funding bodies for an arts centre in Footscray - based on an identified need to work with marginalised and disadvantaged communities.

Since opening, more than two million people have visited FCAC or participated in our programs, events, activities and workshops, with strong artist and audience representation from diverse communities within the west and beyond.

Our GoalsThrough internal and external consultation and engagement, we have identified the following goals as the framework for achieving our exciting vision and mission.

Our artistic and organisational values are:

• Innovation• Diversity• Leadership• Sustainability• Access
