“When you’re on the street and you get hungry, you start looking around. Just so happened, the
bridge where I lived was right here by The Salvation Army. Me and a friend came down here. People
on the street told me about this place ... The Salvation Army has meant a lot to me over the years … a
place to go. I’ve made friends here. Plus, Harbor Light probably saved my life. I was in bad shape,
had nowhere to go. I’ve got some strength back, I’ve got some faith. I’m not gonna give up. I was just
thankful that they were there when I needed them. There are some good people here. I’m really
thankful for the program. It saved my life."
