The right-hander went five innings allowing just one run and striking-out four. Hitters are now batting just .200 against Wong for the season. At the plate, the GreenJackets drew eight walks and plated five runs in the 2nd inning alone. Jose Layer had an RBI single in the frame, along with 2-RBI singles for both Shane Matheny and Jacob Gonzalez. In the 9th inning, Jesus Tona slammed the door shut with his 3rd save of 2019. TONA TIME After Jesus Tona’s save yesterday, he is now tied for 3rd most saves in the South Atlantic League with three. Wong dominant, offense patient is series openerJake Wong was masterful in his five innings of work facing the Charleston RiverDogs in yesterday’s series opener, helping the GreenJackets come away with a 7-5 victory. The right-hander went five innings allowing just one run and striking-out four. Hitters are now batting just .200 against Wong for the season.

At the plate, the GreenJackets drew eight walks and plated five runs in the 2nd inning alone. Jose Layer had an RBI single in the frame, along with 2-RBI singles for both Shane Matheny and Jacob Gonzalez. In the 9th inning, Jesus Tona slammed the door shut with his 3rd save of 2019.

TONA TIMEAfter Jesus Tona’s save yesterday, he is now tied for 3rd most saves in the South Atlantic League with three. The right-hander was an All-Star last year in the Northwest League after he posted a 0.87 ERA. The former catcher, converted pitcher, has been the GreenJackets go to man for the 9th inning.
