Chiang Kai-shek Shilin Residence and Chiang Kai-shek Shilin Residence Park
CKS Shilin Residence Park is surrounded by the Fushan hills, this 9.28-hectare park was
named after the late R.O.C. President Chiang Kai-shek, who lived on its premises in 1950. It
has well-preserved, enchanting scenic resources both in the outer and inner gardens, the
principal room, the greenhouse for potted orchids, the rose garden, Victory Chapel, the New
Orchid Pavilion and the Ciyun Pavilion, due to construction projects or renovations having
been prohibited in the neighborhood for national security reasons. The Chinese-style inner
garden is landscaped with a stream running under an artificial bridge, rock gardens,
peculiarly shaped rocks, and a red-painted Chinese summerhouse, whereas the European-
style outer garden with carpet bed of exuberant flowers, serves as a theme venue for the
annual chrysanthemum exhibitions.
National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
This memorial hall was originally established to commemorate Chiang Kai-Shek and drive
culture promotion activities. After he passed away in 1975, people in Taiwan and certain of
the overseas Chinese proposed to establish a memorial hall to express their respect for the
leader. The site of the Memorial Hall was originally a military base and was later decided to
be used as the location used for the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. The main hall was
opened to the public on April 5,1980. The History Center displays files, relics and photos
from the very beginning until the final stage of the construction of the memorial hall.
National Palace Museum
The National Palace Museum has a permanent collection of nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient
Chinese imperial artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest of its type in the world.
The collection encompasses 8,000 years of history of Chinese art from the Neolithic age to
the modern. Most of the collection are high quality pieces collected by China's emperors.
The National Palace Museum shares its roots with the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City,
whose extensive collection of artwork and artifacts were built upon the imperial collections
of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
VIGOR KOBO PINEAPPLE CAKE DREAM FACTORY
Founded in 1992, Vigor Kobo has won food competitions and approved by quality
certification. In 2006, it won the first prize of Top Popularity Award in Pineapple Cake
Contest in Taipei, and Vigor Kobo exclusively made it a gift for the state banquet on the
