PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

It’s the beginning of June….and today it’s not raining!!! Hoping your gardens are in and that crazy spring yard work is done.

Two years ago – I said that I hoped you’d find your guild experience full of fun, friends with a common interest, and that you’d see lots of incredible quilts.

I couldn’t be happier.

A lot of very talented people have made the last two years, absolutely fun, educational and inspiring.

Many, many thanks to Stephanie, Jill and Vicki for the terrific programs, workshops and challenges. As quilting continues to evolve, you continue to expose us to new ideas and stir our creativity. Your hours and hours of work are very much appreciated.

Thanks to the executive and volunteers – Terry, Nancy, Jan G, Jan Z, Deb, Heather, Diane C, Monica, Pat, Donna and Edith………I’m hoping you’ve enjoyed it – I love people who just step in and do what needs to be done….you make it fun and easy.

But….as in all organizations, the time has come to bring in a fresh horse.

Monica has shown me how great being Past-President can be, so I’m pleased to step into that role, as Terry takes on President. This guild absolutely lucked out getting someone of Terry’s talent, knowledge and with such a keen interest in quilting – I am so looking forward to the next two years!

Fun, educational and inspiring – I’m thinking it’ll just get better and better.

So be sure to see Jan G and get that membership for next year…..and buckle up…it’s going to be exciting!

It’s beautiful outside….the sun is out and life is good.

But it’s short…..buy the fabric.

PROGRAM – Stephanie Sinden, Vicki Harris, Jill Jackson Our June 10th meeting is our Strawberry Social and Yard Sale. Bring some cash as I’m sure you will find something to buy! For $5 you can have your own 1/2 table. 7 tables are spoken for and if you are interested please let us know before the meeting so we can set up a table for you. If you don't want your own table, how about doing some housecleaning in your sewing area and donating items you don't love anymore to the guild table. Cheryl Arkison has a blog post on Marie Kondo-ing your sewing room, cherylarkison.com. If you have firm thoughts on what price your items need to fetch, please price them. Do you have a Kaffe Fasset project to show at our June meeting? I’m sewing my binding on now! There will be a special show and tell of our Kaffe creations. And please be prepared to tell us a little about your design process. There will be at least one prize! Will anyone have anything made with their hand dyed fabrics from our Bethany Garner workshop? I know some members can bring some of their paper creations from the gelatin plate printing. Please bring a piece or 2 for another special show and tell!
