Vision
Values
As an established nonprofit, our mission is to develop partnerships with families and communities through therapeutic programs, community education, advocacy, and support, so that children may flourish.
Our vision is that every family has the opportunity to empower their child to reach their fullest potential through positive learning experiences.
• To exceed what is expected of us.• To honor teli’s rich heritage of impacting
the lives of children.• To treat families and children with respect
and compassion.• To provide services with integrity and
purpose.• To convey knowledge and skills to families
and children for lifelong benefits.
Message From the PresidentDear teli families, friends, and supporters,
This year, The Early Learning Institute celebrated its 60th year serving children with developmental challenges. Thanks to all of you, we are proud to say that our 60th was another great year at teli.
Let us reflect back on some of our accomplishments during 2018:• Our therapists delivered services to more than 1,550 children; an increase of 15% from the
previous year.• We served children and families with over 22,000 direct service hours. • teli increased to a staff of 47 full and part-time employees.• teli therapists provided shadowing and internship opportunities for students of local • colleges and universities.• Through our enhanced cyber school initiative, we provided therapeutic services to
school-aged children in their homes.• The teli Helping Hand Fund provided support for basic household necessities and special
needs equipment to our families facing financial hardship.
These accomplishments would not have been possible without the efforts of many. The dedication and tireless work of our administrative leadership, therapists, staff, and the generosity of our donors is inspiring. We look forward to continued success in the years to come.
teli’s 60th Anniversary
We celebrated our 60th birthday at Willow on Sept 22.
Board members, staff and teli graduates had a delightful evening of good food and good fun with a silent auction and raffle.
We are grateful for the support of all our teli friends for the past 60 years and in awe of the success of the children
who have graduated from our programs.
Early InterventionThe Early Learning Institute’s (teli) Infant and Toddler Program serves children ages birth to three, usually in their home or community setting. A collaboration between the family, teli therapists, and other team members works to achieve goals identified in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), which is created to meet each child’s specific needs.
Supportive services can include: Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy as well as Social Work, Developmental, Vision and Hearing Services. A child’s program may also include assistive technology, feeding support, sensory integration and/or behavioral support.
Outpatient RehabilitationThe Outpatient division of teli offers Occupational and Speech therapies to children and adolescents up to 21 years of age. Designed for success in school and beyond, teli services put children on the path to reach their full potential. Offices are located in Greentree/Crafton, and Bethel Park.
Outcomes• 100% of families said that teli therapists helped them to make changes in their routines
and taught them new activities to support their child’s development.• 100% of families were satisfied that teli therapists were experts in their field and addressed
all their questions.• 99% of families were satisfied with the services they received and their therapist.

Thanks to our generous donors, this year the teli Helping Hand Fund provided one-time financial support to 20 teli families who needed assistance with housing, utilities, clothing, or special equipment.
“Melissa was very helpful about suggesting toys or activities that would be
beneficial to our son, and was so flexible about the location
of therapy going from house to daycare at short notice.”
“Karen, Jackie, and Susie were attentive and engaged
with my child, and clearly pursued ‘bringing my child up to speed’ developmentally.”
