CULTIVATION CLASSIC (n) The world’s first & only cannabis competition exclusively for flower produced in Oregon free of synthetics, defining craft and celebrating community.
In April 2016, Willamette Week, with Farma, Cascadia Labs,
and Phylos Bioscience, produced an inaugural cannabis cel-
ebration for craft producers in the state of Oregon growing
quality product with a regenerative approach – no mineral
salts or synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. After
100 unique strains were judged by a panel of 60 regional
tastemakers, the community came together for a sold-out,
day-long event with 30+ vendor booths, world-class speak-
ers, food, beer and awards ceremony. More than 500 guests
from 13 states attended this historic event, placing Oregon
on the national and international map as the premiere pro-
ducer of ethically grown, outstanding craft cannabis.
We invite you to join us for the second annual Cultivation Classic on April 30, 2017, and submit your product to the competition.

IMPORTANT INFO FROM THE LAB
855-800-6890
Cascadia Labs is Oregon’s premier cannabis-centric and science-based organization offering analytic services that meet the most demanding regulatory and business requirements with integrity and consistency.
Cascadia Labs is pleased to support the Cultivation Classic with industry leading analytical services to
provide cannabinoid and terpenoid potency profiles for the flowers submitted. But the best part is, the event won’t even have an award for highest potency numbers!
All flowers submitted will be organized into appropriate groups (THC, CBD, 1:1). The actual potency
data will be withheld from judges and competitors until the day of the event. We are data driven
scientists, but this time we want to have a little fun and bring the heart of this competition back to the
good old days: when quality cannabis was gauged by an experience of the senses, not the highest
potency number.
Flower delivery is welcome on walk-in basis from 10 AM until Noon, M-F, and by appointment when
available. Please expect 10-15 minutes to complete Chain of Custody documentation upon delivery
of entries at the laboratory. These documents are required on top of the Cultivation Classic entry form
to ensure compliance with current regulations.
All competitors will receive a test report with test results in May 2017. Cannabinoids and terpenoids
to be profiled are listed on PAGE 7. NOTE: By entering the competition all cultivators agree that their
data is subject to use, including identification of cultivator, as part of the event presentation and post-
event publications.

ABOUT RESOURCE INNOVATION INSTITUTE
Tens of thousands of industrial scale cannabis production facilities will be built over the
next few years. How they are designed, constructed and maintained will impact not only
our natural resources, but also public perception of the industry.
At the Resource Innovation Institute, we collaborate with the cannabis industry, the
private marketplace and the public sector to drive market-based solutions that promote
resource efficiency.
Our objective is to transform the cannabis market today toward carbon-free and water-
wise production.

This partnership, new in 2017, encourages competing growers to help us create the
most data-rich contest and robust carbon accounting mechanism possible by collecting
electrical needs data for each stage of the cannabis cultivation process: Vegetative,
Flowering and Drying/Curing. A “Competitive Facilities Checklist” will also be used.
Using this data, R.I.I. will assign a “carbon accounting grade” to each entering producer
on a five-point system, which will factor into the plants’ overall score at 25%.

Cultivation Classic?
ABOUT PHYLOS BIOSCIENCE
2017 STYLE GUIDELINES
Phylos is an agricultural genomics company
based in Portland, Oregon. They’re using
modern molecular genetics and compu-
tational biology to better understand the
most important and least-studied plant in
the world: cannabis. This science has been
transformed into helpful services and tools
for every type of cannabis cultivator—from
small breeders and growers to emerging
industry leaders.
503-206-6599
Winning strains will be sent to Phylos
Bioscience for genetic identity testing and
will become Phylos Certified. The Phylos
Genotype test includes a comprehensive
genetic report revealing data on closest
relatives, clonal relationships, uniqueness
score, population origin, genetic variation
and most distant cultivars. Winning strains
will also be added to the Phylos Galaxy, a
3D map of cannabis genetics.
