2017 HIGHER SCHOOL CERTIFICATEFROM THE HEADMASTER

A huge congratulations to the Class of 2017 and their teachers for their sensational HSC results. This year’s results are some of our best ever and a testament to the hard work of our boys and staff. We are absolutely delighted for the boys and their families and teaching staff.

As measured by the Sydney Morning Herald’s Top 100 Schools Report, this year Knox Grammar School is ranked at number 19 on the list (up from 28th in 2016).

The boys of 2017 have achieved a new Knox record of 660 Band 6 (90+) results, up from 502 in 2016. This is certainly the highest achievement since the new HSC started in 2001.

As a non-selective boys’ school, we are extremely pleased with the rise in the ATAR ranks. Each boy’s result is a reflection of his own commitment, dedication and focus. In 2017 the middle boy at Knox achieved an ATAR of approximately 90. This year, 32 boys achieved an ATAR of 99 or above, and more than 160 boys attained an ATAR of 90 or above. Knox Grammar School is a better community today because of the significant contribution of the Class of 2017. This year group has contributed to school life in all areas - academics, sport, performing arts, social justice and leadership. We wish all boys every success in the future and once again thank them and their families for the wonderful contribution they have made to Knox Grammar School.

Our Executive Team and teachers have worked hard over many years to enhance and improve the quality of teaching for the benefit of our students. This has been a whole of school effort, with a strong focus on collaboration between teachers and a commitment to embedding a culture based on social learning theory.
