Covenant 2016 Health Plan Changes

A closer look at an HSA plan: § You own the account § You can contribute money pre-tax through payroll deduction § Money in the account can roll over from year to year § Federal regulations on:

§  Minimum annual deductibles ($1,300 – single $2,600 family) §  Maximum contributions ($3,350 – single $6,650 family)

§ Deductible is non-embedded – no individual deductible for family deductible – can be met by one family member or a combination § Can not participate in a HSA and a FSA (Benny card)

Requirements for the 2016 enhanced deductible are:

§  Annual physical between October 1, 2013 and October 31, 2015 §  Biometric screening between October 1, 2013 and October 31, 2015

If you are covering your spouse on the health plan, they must meet the requirements.

§  October 5 – October 22 Open Enrollment

§  To be compliant with Affordable Care Act, employees must actively select or decline health insurance coverage

§  Employees must enter family members Social Security Numbers

§  October 7 – 8 – Vendors at Open Enrollment §  Employees can enroll in the following ways:
