ABOUT THE ACM The Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) is a consortium of 14 academically excellent, independent colleges. ACM colleges each have a distinctive identity and set of traditions. They also share many characteristics, especially a fundamental commitment to the liberal arts. Athletic ties among ACM member institutions stretch back nearly a century to 1921, when six colleges — Beloit, Carleton, Coe, Cornell, Knox and Lawrence — formed the Midwest Collegiate Athletic Conference and held the new league’s first competition in track and field. By 1958, the conference had grown to include ten colleges, which joined together to create the ACM, thereby adding collaboration in academic areas to the connections they already had through athletics. Today, the ACM is one of the nation’s oldest and most successful higher education consortia. Together, the ACM colleges offer students, faculty, and staff a wide range of opportunities in off-campus study, professional development, networking, and information sharing. Add a new dimension to your college experience through off-campus study! The Associated Colleges of the Midwest offers distinctive programs in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the US to meet the academic needs and interests of all students. ABOUT THE ACMThe Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) is a consortium of 14 academically

excellent, independent colleges. ACM colleges each have a distinctive identity and set of traditions. They also share many characteristics, especially a fundamental

commitment to the liberal arts.

Athletic ties among ACM member institutions stretch back nearly a century to 1921, when six colleges — Beloit, Carleton, Coe, Cornell, Knox and Lawrence — formed

the Midwest Collegiate Athletic Conference and held the new league’s first competition in track and field.

By 1958, the conference had grown to include ten colleges, which joined together to create the ACM, thereby adding collaboration in academic areas

to the connections they already had through athletics.

Today, the ACM is one of the nation’s oldest and most successful higher education consortia. Together, the ACM colleges offer students, faculty, and

staff a wide range of opportunities in off-campus study, professional development, networking, and information sharing.

Add a new dimension to your college experience through off-campus study! The Associated Colleges of the Midwest offers distinctive programs in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the US to meet the academic needs and interests of all students.
