COLORADO SPRINGS -Olympic and World championJordan Burroughs, Worldchampion Adeline Gray, andWorld medalist Andy Bisek willlead the U.S. into the PanAmerican Games on July 15-18 in Toronto, Canada.

The four-day tournament willfeature competition in freestyle,women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.

The U.S. has qualified 16total wrestlers for the event.

Burroughs captured a PanAm Games title in 2011 inGuadalajara, Mexico..

Burroughs is an Olympicgold medalist and two-timeWorld champion. He will leadthe U.S. at September’s WorldChampionships in Las Vegas.

Gray is a two-time Worldchampion and four-time Worldmedalist in women’s freestyle.

Bisek earned a bronzemedal at the 2014 WorldChampionships, ending a five-year medal drought for the

United States in Greco-Roman.Two-time World medalist

Tervel Dlagnev will be lookingfor his second Pan Am titleafter previously winning in2011.

2011 Pan Am gold medalistJake Herbert also is back inthe American lineup. The 2009World medalist and 2012Olympian has returned tomake his third World Team.

Burnett was named theNational FreestyleCoach for USAWrestling in May 2014.Burnett lead the men’sfreestyle programthrough the 2016Olympic Games in Riode Janiero, Brazil.Burnett served as theNational FreestyleCoach for USAWrestling for two Olympic cycles, from 1993-2000,which are considered among the most successfulfor the United States in history. During his eightyears leading the program, the United States wonthe World Team titles in men’s freestyle in both1993 in Toronto, Canada and 1995 in Atlanta, Ga.,the only two times in history. Hestunned many wrestling observers by winning anOlympic gold medal in 2000. Slay knocked offRussia’s Bouvaisa Saitiev en route to the goldmedal. Saitiev won Olympic titles in 1996, 2004and 2008.A native of Amarillo, Texas, Slay was a two-timeNCAA runner-up competing for the Univ. ofPennsylvania, where he received a degree fromthe Wharton School of Business.Slay won three Texas state high school titles forTascosa High School, and was an all-district foot-ball player.

Rosselli, the associatehead coach at OhioState, is the headfreestyle coach at theOhio Regional TrainingCenter in Columbus.Three of Rosselli’swrestlers, ReeceHumphrey, Kyle Snyderand Tervel Dlagnev,have landed spots onthe 2015 World Team.Dlagnev is a two-time World bronze medalist.Rosselli played a key role in helping lead OhioState to its first NCAA team championship in2015. The Buckeyes also earned a share of theBig Ten title this year.He was honored as the 2009 National WrestlingCoaches Association Assistant Coach of the Yearand 2014 USA Wrestling Freestyle Coach of theYear, Rosselli helped guide Ohio State to a pair ofNCAA runner-up finishes in 2008 and 2009.He also mentored two-time NCAA champion JJaggers along with four-time NCAA championand 2015 Hodge Trophy winner Logan Stieber.

Steiner was named USAWrestling’s full-timeNational Women’sCoach in April 2002, thefirst in USA Wrestling’shistory.He is responsible for thetraining of America’selite women freestylewrestlers, as well ascoaching womenwrestlers who areinvolved in the U.S. Olympic Training Center resi-dent athlete program. He also plays an importantrole in the development of women’s wrestling inthe United States.Most recently, Steiner led the U.S. to a third-placefinish at the 2013 World Championships.For the first time, women’s wrestlers competed inthe Olympic Games in 2004. Sara McMann won asilver medal and Patricia Miranda won a bronzemedal in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.Since becoming USA Wrestling’s NationalWomen’s Coach, U.S. teams on internationaltours have turned in outstanding performances.At the 2003 World Championships in New York,all seven U.S. women won medals. KristieMarano won a gold medal for the U.S. as it tiedJapan for the team title.Steiner also led the U.S. to the title at the 2003World Cup, where the Americans defeated hostJapan to capture the title.Steiner has guided four other U.S. athletes toWorld titles - Iris Smith in 2005, Clarissa Chun in2008, and Adeline Gray and Elena Pirozhkova in2012.Steiner worked six years as an assistant wrestlingcoach at Wisconsin. He helped develop a numberof top wrestlers, including two-time NCAA champi-on Donny Pritzlaff.He also spent two seasons as an assistant coachat Oregon State.Steiner placed second in the 1998 U.S. Nationals.He finished fourth in the 1996 Olympic Trials andfifth in the 2000 Olympic Trials. Tomeo was named afull-time assistantwomen’s freestylecoach for USAWrestling in 2013.Tomeo works closelywith Senior-level ath-letes at the U.S.Olympic TrainingCenter in ColoradoSprings along withbeing heavily involvedwith the U.S. developmental program forwomen’s wrestling.Tomeo, a native of Grove City, Pa., was a two-time World Team member for the United States.She made U.S. World Teams in 2001 and 2006.She placed seventh at the 2006 WorldChampionships at 59 kg/130 lbs. in Guangzhou,China.Tomeo won a U.S. Nationals title in 2008, andalso won the Dave Schultz Memorial Internationalthat year in her final season of competition.She also captured titles at the New York ACInternational Open, Kiev Grand Prix, ManitobaOpen and Klippan Ladies Open during her com-petitive career on the mat.Tomeo made five U.S. National Teams on theSenior level.She placed sixth at the Junior WorldChampionships in 2000, and placed third in theCadet World Championships in 1998 and 1999.Tomeo was the first girl in Pennsylvania highschool history to place at the district level in1999.She is a graduate of the University of Colorado atColorado Springs, earning a degree in history.Tomeo also attended Lock Haven University,where she was a member of the varsity men’swrestling team.Her brother, Tom, was an NCAA All-American forClarion University.Tomeo is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan whosehobbies include outdoor sports, music andmovies.

Conti has served as a U.S. women’s coach for anumber of international events since 2008.Conti was part of the American coaching staff forthe 2012 Olympic Games in London.He was on the Team USA staff at the Junior WorldChampionships from 2009-11.Five of the seven 2013 U.S. Senior World Teammembers competed on the Junior World Teamsthat he helped coach.In 2013, Conti was part of the coaching staff at thePan American Championships in Panama City,Panama, along with the Battle at the Falls event inNiagara Falls and the Poland Open.In 2013, he was named women’s coach for theNew York Athletic Club.Conti, a native of Fredonia, N.Y., has been ateacher and coach in the public school system for27 years (nine in California and the past 18 in NewYork).Conti has been a highly successful high schoolcoach in California and New York.Since 2003, he has coached 22 state placewin-ners, 11 state finalists and five state champions in

New York. He coaches atFredonia High School.In 2009, he coached thefirst female, CarleneSluberski, to ever place inthe New York state tour-nament. SullivanAward and was named USA Wrestling Greco-Roman Wrestler of the Year in 1998.Lindland stepped away from wrestling to becomehighly successful while competing in mixed martialarts.In 2000, Lindland started coaching wrestling andMMA at his Team Quest gym in Portland, Ore.Lindland compiled a 22-9 record in MMA andfought in the Ultimate Fighting Championships.Lindland was the top-ranked middleweight in theworld during his fighting career.He won his first four fights in the middleweightdivision of the UFC before losing to MuriloBustamante in a championship match at UFC 37.Lindland, an Oregon native, competed for theUniversity of Nebraska, where he was a Big 8champion and an NCAA qualifier for theCornhuskers.He also competed for two years at ClackamasCommunity College, where he was a 1991 nation-al junior college champion.Lindland was as an assistant coach at Nebraskawhile continuing to train in Greco.He served as a coach and mentor for BradVering, who won an NCAA title for Nebraskabefore winning a World silver medal and becom-ing a two-time Olympian in Greco-Roman.Lindland and his wife, Angie, have a son, James,and a daughter, Robin.

Two of the U.S. wrestlers Petkovicworked closely with - Brad Vering (second) andLindsey Durlacher (fifth) - turned in key perform-ances that led to that historic team victory.He also coached Joe Warren to a World title in2006 in Guangzhou, China, and coached AdamWheeler to an Olympic bronze medal in 2008 inBeijing, China.Petkovic was a 1976 Olympic gold medalist inGreco-Roman wrestling, competing for the formerYugoslavia. He also claimed three World silvermedals in 1978, 1979 and 1981, and a Worldbronze medal in 1977.Petkovic placed fourth at the 1984 OlympicGames in Los Angeles. He wrestled international-ly in Greco-Roman from 1970-84.He came to the United States in 1986. He servedas a club coach for the New York Athletic Club forsix years.He was a member of the 2000 U.S. Greco-Roman Olympic Team coaching staff, as well asthe 2001 U.S. Greco-Roman World Team coach-ing staff.
