COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:1. Demonstrate an understanding of concepts in curriculum and identfying models and principles of curriculum design.2. Examine factors to consider in designing a curriculum and discuss issues in curriculum implementation.3. Discuss the role of the teacher in curriculum.4. Part I of the project assesses learning outcomes 1 and 2. Part II of the project assesses learning outcome 3.

COURSEWORK OBJECTIVES:To enable students to:

Part I1. Read critically and select appropriate information from various sources on issues in curriculum;2. Demonstrate basic understanding of the factors to consider in designing a curriculum;3. Discuss key issues related to the curriculum in the context of the Malaysian experience.

Part IIExamine the teacher’s roles in relation to curriculum evaluation and change in the context of the Malaysian experience.

3. Submit the articles to tutor a week prior to the round table discussion.

4. You will present your review in round table discussion to address the statement above. You will be assessed for your participation in the round table discussion:

a. Individual assessment for content and delivery.b. Group assessment for collaboration during the round

table discussion.
