• IRDR CHINA launched six programs on IRDR since October, 2012: – initiatives of Forensic Disaster Investigations in China(FORIN-CHINA)(4 programs),
– Disaster Loss Data in China ( DATA-CHINA ) (1 program) and
– The Impact of Natural Disasters in China( IND-CHINA)(1 program).
All programs will end up in the early of year 2015 and annual research reports have been collected.
The new series will be proposed due to IRDR CHINA experts committee.

为了全面提高教育系统防灾减灾能力,教育部与联合国儿童基金会合作,设立了专门的学校防灾减灾研究课题,为制定教育系统防灾减灾政策提供咨询。 We have special cases of disaster reduction and mitigation for
schools and consultations for certain policies in collaboration with
UNICEF in order to increase such ability.

IRDR CHINA will increase members from related
sectors, extend its network in China
experts from local organizations of disaster
mitigation or research, including natural and social sciences;
Involve scientists , practioners , lawyers, journalists, legislation experts, policy-makers for disaster mitigation, etc.
Involve young people;
Perspectives and Further Steps
Networking the disaster researchers or agencies in
China:
to integrate knowledge and methodology;
to set up cooperation and coordination
mechanism;
to promote data sharing and to develop national
disaster data platform and research grids;
to formulate and modify regulations, policies,
laws suggesting to national or local legislation,
standards;
to avoid overlapping work
Perspectives and Further Steps
Systematically exam the disaster research and
disaster mitigation capability in China, to find out
its advantages and disadvantages, problems,
shortcomings, and try to give effective solutions to
these bottlenecks.
Organizing Workshops and meetings to learn each
other, and exchange findings and achievements.
to cooperate with developed and developing
countries in disaster capability building and
reinforcement of modern science and technology
application in disaster integrated research and
mitigation some other international mechanisms,
organizations, major programmes, etc.
Perspectives and Further Steps
International Cooperation (IRDR, post-HFA) to focus on capability building, data sharing
platform and mechanism, integrated risk research
on disaster chain;
to initiate two prior cooperation fields: oceanic and coastal disaster research,
monitoring and assessment technologies, such as
hurricane disasters (projects, seminars, workshops,
visiting scholars, training courses);
to cooperate in earthquake disaster risk research
and mitigation technology, comparing the
earthquake disasters in China with those in other
advanced countries, to learn from each other.
Perspectives and Further Steps
Making full use of the opportunity while China
advocates and practices new international
cooperation strategy “one economic belt and one new
silk road” to cooperate with Asian-Pacific region in
disaster mitigation under IRDR and post-HFA;
Perspectives and Further Steps
