    Background of Teacher : Student of Agriculture

    Thanghsinghpada

    No of Students : 20, Teacher : Singa Kalya Pawara

    Background of Teacher : Polio Patient Rupsinghpada

    No of Students : 15, Teacher : Asaram Bapu Pawara

    Background of Teacher : B.E.D with no proper Job

    The pada has now received sanction from government to start formalschool

    VMS Boarding : Palas boy and girls who moved from nonformal to formal schools

    Supervisors met : Bunsilal Shikarsing Pawara & VirsingBahadur Pawara

    Obervations

    The educational material was available and usedreasonably well to teach students

    The attendance register was maintained with names ofthe students and signature of teacher/supervisor

    Students could read and write English alphabets and

    words Students could also sing/dance and write Marathi

    alphabets and words

    Students were visibly very confident when questionedand were happy with classes

    Teachers were passionate to teach adivasi kids andprovided unconditional support

    Supervisors regularly visited schools and met teachersto provide guidance

    Areas of Improvement

    The students in the classes were not dressed properlyand the clothes were dirty. The clothing was incompleteand untidy.

    Father Assis proposed to look at providing uniform to

    students

    Teachers to educate students on importance of cleaniness

    Tracking of Palassstudents performance is key tosuccess of the the project

    Need to maintain records of students moving to formalschools

    No of students graduating or completing formal education

    It was a lifetime experience to see underpriviledged kidswere provided education with passion to support society

    Asha Zurich is doing a wonderful job of supporting Palas

    education program for Adivasi kids The entire team of Father Assis with supervisors and

    teachers are dedicatedly working towards common goal.They are highly respected by villagers and Patils ofPadas

    The basic education provided is of good quality andstudents are responding well to their guidance

    I would like to thank Asha team to provide meopportunity to sight new world at Shirpur
