tion provided by entering the regatta.

OTHER INFORMATION
Reception
The Nations' Dinner will take place on Friday,
28 March at 19:30 hrs. Two representatives
from each federation are invited. Please note
details are tentative and will be confirmed with
federations closer to the event.
Weigh-in
Coxswains and lightweights have to weigh
in according to the FISA Rules of Racing. The
weighing centre opens two hours before the
start of the first race. The scales are located in
the Bay 3 of the Boathouse.
Liability
Participants are responsible for acquiring
insurance for their equipment and persons.
The OC shall not be held liable for any damages
incurred in the regatta venue area.
Team Medical Staff
Team medical staff (Doctors, etc) are required
to fill in the appropriate visiting medical pro-
fessionals forms to be authorised to practice
medicine in Australia. A Regatta Physio will be
available for use by all teams in the Athlete
First Aid room in Boatshed 4. There will also be
additional physio bays set up for use by teams
bringing their own physios.

ately if you intend to travel with a team doctor
or physio, or if you intend to use the Regatta
Physio.
Electrical Sockets
Please ensure if bringing international electri-
cal equipment you have the correct convertor
plugs to use in Australian power sockets.

The timetable for the preliminary heats, repechages and semifinals depends on the number of entries
and therefore modifications are possible.
The Sydney International Rowing Regatta (SIRR) is a unique eight-day regatta, including the Australian Open
Championships, Australian Open Schools Championships, King’s and Queen’s Cups Interstate Regatta and a
World Rowing Cup.
World Cup teams may also race in the Australian Open Rowing Championships in preparation for the World
Cup at no cost. Please email [email protected] by 4 March 2014 if you would like to take advantage of
this opportunity.
Hotel rooms of different levels have been
reserved for all World Cup teams at Official
Organising Committee hotels. This informa-
tion has already been sent to Team Managers
from every Federation.
If you are still planning to race in Sydney but
have not contacted the Organising Committee
or FISA, please contact the OC urgently at:
[email protected] for accommo-
dation options and bookings. Availability for
teams is now very limited.
Transport Service
Please note it is the responsibility of teams to
arrange their transport arrangements, includ-
ing airport transfers and travel to and from the
competition venue.
A number of ground transport options have
previously been sent to Team Managers from
every Federation.
Please be aware when booking transport
options to ensure cars, buses and coaches are
able to transport oars or larger equipment if
required.

Meal Arrangements
Please note it is the responsibility of teams to
arrange their own meals and catering.
Meal options previously provided to Team
Managers from every Federation include:

Lunch and dinner options are available at
Penrith Panthers (adjacent to the Chifley Hotel
Penrith) with options from $14.95 (AUD) or
$19.95 (AUD). For menu options and to book

Three international airports are in close prox-
imity to the lake:
• Lyon St-Exupéry - 45 minutes driving
• Geneva Cointrin (Switzerland) - 1 hour driving
• Grenoble - St Geoirs -1 hour 30 minutes driv-

The official transport service will operate from
the airports listed above and must be booked
through the Organising Committee.
By TrainHigh-speed train (TGV) services from:
• Paris – Chambéry, takes 3 hours
• Lyon – Chambéry, takes 1 hour
Regional trains (TER) stop at Lépin le Lac.
By CarLake Aiguebelette is close to junction n°12 on
the A43 Lyon – Chambéry highway:

Inspired by the success of the 2009 World
Skiing Championships at Val d’Isère, the 2014
World Rowing Cup will be free and open to all.
Spectators will be able to stroll freely around
the spectator areas to watch the races.

MEALS, ACCOMMODATION, TRANSPORT
Team Accommodation
Most of the teams will stay in Chambéry or Aix-
les-Bains. Both cities are less than 30 minutes
from Lake Aiguebelette and have a wide range
of cultural attractions (theaters, cinemas,
museums, etc.), restaurants, and shops that
they will be able to visit during the World Cup
– an opportunity to discover France’s world-
famous gastronomy and art de vivre.
The Organising Committee has appointed
Savoie Mont Blanc Réservation to manage
accommodation bookings.

Meal Service
Breakfast and dinner will be provided at the
accommodation.
The Organising Committee is pleased to offer
your athletes lunch at the Aiguebelette regatta
venue for the special price of 15 € per meal.
The meals are especially prepared with row-
ers in mind and will be served in the Athletes'
Restaurant Tent in the boat area. Team
Managers and coaches should order the meals
in advance.
Orders for these meals must be made one
month before the arrival date. For registrations
received after 2O May 2014, meal prices will
increase.

Transport Service
Transport service will be provided for the par-
ticipants and includes:
• Airport transfer to/from the hotels from Lyon,
Grenoble and Geneva
• Railway station transfer to/from the hotels
from Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry
• Shuttle service from the official accommoda-
tion to the regatta venue and back, operating
from 18 until 22 June 2014.

DIRECTIONS TO THE REGATTA VENUE
By Airplane
Lucerne is easily accessible from the inter-
national airport of Zurich by direct train.
Departures from the airport are every 30 min-
utes as of 05:15 hrs.
Upon arriving at Lucerne’s main station
(Hauptbahnhof), take bus No. 1 in the direction
of “Maihof” and get off at the "Weggismatt”
or "Maihofhöhe" bus stop. On foot from there,
follow the signs down to the lake.
When driving from Zurich airport, take
Motorway A4 (Zurich-Zug-Luzern) and follow
the direction Luzern. Take the “Emmen Sud”
exit and follow the “Rotsee” signs.
By Train
You can reach Lucerne’s main station
(Hauptbahnhof) from all directions by train.
From there, take bus No. 1 in the direction of

Training
The venue is officially open for training daily
from Wednesday, 9 July 2014 from 8:00 until
21:00 hrs. On racing days, training is allowed
from 6:30 hrs until 30 minutes before the first
race.

Reservations have to be made as early as
possible, at the latest by the closing date for
entries on 30 June 2014. Advance payment will
be requested.
Low-cost accommodation
We are able to offer a limited number of beds
in low-cost bed & breakfast accommodation
at the Youth Hostel, near the finish area (see
attached application form). The accommo-
dation will be allocated on a “first come, first
served” basis.
Beds and rooms that have been booked but
have not been fully used will be charged.

Friday, 30 May 2014.
Order and cleaning
The Team Manager/Coach is responsible for
keeping the accommodation in proper condi-
tion.
It is strictly forbidden to prepare meals or to
change any electrical and/or sanitary installa-
tions.
All costs which result from damage or degraga-
tion have to be paid by the user. The OC will
not be held liable.

The reservation is confirmed as soon as the
deposit is registered by the Regatta office.

The Lucerne Regatta is pleased to offer your
athletes lunch and dinner at the Rotsee for the
special price of 16 CHF per meal. The meals are
especially prepared with rowers in mind and will
be served in the Athletes' Restaurant Tent in
the boat area.
• There will be two menus to choose from;
one always includes pasta and salad.
• A half litre of mineral water is included
(free) with each meal.
• Team Managers and coaches should
order the meals in advance - see
enclosed form.
• This form should be sent together with
the entries. The tickets will be available
at the Regatta office (open from 8:00 hrs
to 20:00 hrs).
• There is other food and drink available at
reasonable prices.
Important: the restaurant tent is only open to
rowers and admission will only be possible with
the prepaid tickets.
Orders for these meals must be made before
30 June 2014 on the enclosed form, to be
sent to the Regatta office. For registrations
received after 30 June 2014, meal prices will
increase.
The restaurant "Ruderstuebli" will be reserved
and available for rowers as a rest area.
The Organising Committee provides a limited
number of transport possibilities for teams
staying outside Lucerne. Please book your
transfer in advance at
[email protected]. Your transport is
only confirmed when you receive a written
confirmation from the OC.
During racing days you can book your transport
at the transportation office in the boating area
only.
MEAL ARRANGEMENTS AT THE VENUE
Teams staying at the hotels in the city may
order bus tickets at reduced rates.
