Location: Summer classes are held at the Emporia Arts Center - 815 Commercial St.

Arrival & Departure: The Emporia Arts Center CANNOT be responsible for a child’s care before or after class. Please drop-off and pick-up your child promptly. You or your designated adult will be asked to sign your child in/out before leaving the area. Children under the age of 10 must be picked up from the classroom.

Class Fees: Payment is required at the time of enrollment. Art Supplies for your class are included in your class fees, unless indicated in the class description.

Enrollment: Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. EAC cannot “hold” space in classes without payment in advance. Confirmations are not sent. Assume that you are enrolled in the class for which you registered. We will contact you in the event the class is full or is cancelled. Refunds are given only when a class is full or cancelled by EAC.

Make-up: If a class meeting is cancelled by EAC, a make-up class will be scheduled. If a student is unable to attend a class, EAC is not responsible for providing a make-up. Class fees are not pro-rated for student-missed classes or late enrollments.

Scholarship: EAC has a very generous scholarship fund available for students needing financial assistance. Call 620-343-6473 to learn more about our scholarship fund.

This class takes some of that extra energy and turns it into art! Students will explore the use of motion and paint to create little masterpieces.

You can spend every day at the beach with your own beach in a box! Create your

favorite beach scene, complete with real sand, to take you there.

painting technique is a lot of fun for young artists.


Magic in a Bottle Fee: $14

Date: Wed., June 26 Time: 10:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m. This fun hide and seek in a bottle activity can boost concentration and memory skills.

Children will place objects in the water bottle they can search for and locate, along

with fun ribbon, glitter or color of their choice. Bring your own mis-matched mitten.

Learn basic clay skills like rolling coils and working with slip to create a beautiful,

Since the beginning of time, man has been in awe of the mysteries of space. Join us as

we explore space and venture into the unknown of flying saucers, the solar system,

constellations and much more.


Cool It! Fee: $22


This class offers a fun way to beat the heat. A variety of ice and water related projects

will keep students cool!


Pet Treat Boxes Fee: $16


Do you have special pet that you love to give treats? Ruff! Meow! They love them too!

Decorate a box for your furry friend’s treats.


Paint Like Mondrian Fee: $12


Young artists will experience the work of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. While learning

about primary colors, students create their own Mondrian-inspired painting.


Preschool Open Studio Time Fee: $10

Didgeridoos Fee: $14


Australia’s Aboriginal people invented the didgeridoo. Children will make this musical
