INVIGILATORS NOTE 2013 NATIONAL SCIENCE CHALLENGE – PRELIMINARY LEVEL 3 APRIL 2013, WEDNESDAY 9.30 AM – 11.30 AM NOTE: PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY 1) The Preliminary Level of 2013 National Science Challenge (NSC) is to be conducted under the supervision of an invigilator (teachers are allowed). 2) Participating schools are required to prepare a hard copy of the questions for each participant. No OMR form is required. 3) The Preliminary Level is to be conducted as a written test (exam format) comprising of 40 objective questions, 3 subjective questions and 1 written essay. 4) The questions set for this challenge may not be based on school curriculum. Questions will comprise of the following categories: a. Physics questions b. Biology questions c. Chemistry questions d. Mathematics questions e. Science & Technology questions 5) Participants will be given 2 hour to answer all the questions. 6) All questions must be answered individually. Discussion is not allowed. 7) Usage of calculator, text books and reference books are prohibited. 8) This challenge is conducted in English language. Thus, participants are required to answer all subjective and essay questions in English. Participants are allowed to answer by using ballpoint pen. 9) Objective questions are to be answered by darkening the respective alphabet of choosen answer either [A], [B], [C], [D].

10) Please ensure that your details are correctly filled and duly completed before

submission. Answer forms submitted with insufficient information WILL NOT

BE EVALUATED.

11) All entries must be submitted to the Academy of Sciences Malaysia no later

than 10 April 2013 (Wednesday).
