2013-2014 Student Council Election

On June 12, 2013 soon to be 6th, 7th, and 8th graders running for

student council gave their speeches. Everyone did a great job! Af-

ter the speeches we held an election for 4th-8th grade students.

The winners were told the next day. The class representatives are

Katianna, Aren, Nareg, & Meghri. Aleek D. is treasurer. Aleen K. is

secretary. Naira M. is Vice President. And our new president is

Garen K.

Parents’ Auxiliary Executive Members

Our sincere thanks to the 2012-2013 Parents’ Auxiliary executive members, Mrs. Meline Babachanian, Mrs. Lilit Odabashian, Mrs. Liza Melkonian and Mrs. Hilda Manouki-an for their dedication and hard work in organizing the school events for the betterment of the school. Good job!

Our congratulations to the new executive members, Mrs. Dalita Derbedrossian, Mrs. Lilit Odabashian, Mrs. Liza Melkonian and Mrs. Sossi Nassir. We wish them good luck for the upcoming school year.

First Vocabulary Bee

Or first ever Vocabulary Bee was a great success! In our 5th

through 8th grade category, our first place was Mary K. from 5th

grade, second place was Arpi B. from 5th grade, and our 3rd place

winner was Aren, also from 5th. In our 1st-4th grade category, our

first place was Mathew G. from first grade. There were 2 second

place winners, both from 4th grade; Nicole & Arek. All the par-

ticipants were given participation awards, but out first, second,

and third place winners were given ribbons as well. We thank all

the participants and we hope we will see you next year.

Thank you for serving others in the name of our Lord. Know that everything you do for others you do for Him. Thank you for offering your time so generously for those who need your talents.

May He bless you for every act of kindness you have done and reward you for your love and service to others. We appreciate all that you do and for the difference you have made in serving the Lord our God so faithfully. May He bless you abundantly.

Special thanks to:

The Advisory Board members for their hard work and support to the school.

The Parents’ Auxiliary members for their dedicated work and effort in raising funds for the school.

Sports’ committee for their hard work and enrichment of the sports’ program at the Academy.

Administration, Faculty and Staff for their commitment and dedication.

Class captains for being instrumental in their service by acting a liaison between the administration and par-ents.

Mrs. Linda Kandilian for devoting her time in reporting the school events in the Armenian newspapers and for typing and manning the five issues of the newsletter.

All the parents who helped at the snack shop and especially Mrs. Lara Kejejian, Mrs. Tamar Avedissian, and Mrs. Liza Melkonian who volunteered to organize and purchase all the items needed which made it easier to manage the shop.

Mr. Ara Akarjalian for volunteering his time in taping the school’s events and preparing the copies for the school.

Parents for supporting your children and their teachers. The school greatly appreciate your efforts and con-tribution towards providing more successful experience for our students. We look forward working with you during 2013-2014

To Mr. & Mrs. Raffi Soghomonian for donating part of the cost of the school promotional pens.

To Mr. Kadoian for donating his time and painting the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

St. Joseph’s statue will be also painted in the summer.

*Mr. Basmajian for taking care of the recycling items by taking them every time when he was asked and bring-ing the amount of money for the student council Fund.
