Town Hall Gathering Join us at 7 p.m. for our inaugural Town Hall gathering. Members will get a preview of some strategic planning work ASTA has been focusing on for the past few months. Where are we headed? President Bob Phillips will present some of the preliminary ideas from the Board and Task Force Committee and will solicit your feedback. This will help to formalize a five-year strategic plan. There is also an additional opportunity for comment later in the conference.

Dessert SocialThe Town Hall is just the opening act for the popular dessert social, which has been a member favorite for the past two years. Every year there are new prizes and surprises! You can connect with old friends and make new ones. First time attendees—this is a great way to meet fellow teachers in your area and around the country.

Dine-Around-ProvidenceJoin friends and colleagues while sampling great local cuisine. ASTA currently is working with restaurant owners in Providence to create some special ways for members to indulge in these local eateries. Sign up on Thursday at the registration desk for your preferred restaurant. We expect to have restaurants, menu options, and special pricing available on our website in January. Bring your wallet! This is a “Dutch treat” evening.

Exhibit Hall FavoritesWhether it’s the grand opening of the hall, coffee breaks between workshops, evening receptions, dessert sampling, or just taking a stroll through the exhibits, this is a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends.

Silent Auction ReturnsWith so much to experience, we wanted to maximize your ability to view and bid on the auction items. With that in mind, the auction will be held in the exhibit hall. There will be about 20 items on the block for bidding. Bidding begins Thursday at 5 p.m. and closes Friday at 5 p.m. The winning bids will be announced around 5:30 p.m. Items may be picked up immediately or on Saturday morning before noon. Visit the ASTA website for auction items and other details.
