Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

1 Time involved troubleshooting is a problem and setting up equipment Mar 19, 2012 3:21 PM

2 It is very good within the limitations of our school budget. Mar 18, 2012 8:22 PM

    3 Seems well resourced Mar 18, 2012 4:32 PM

4 We need more of it. Mar 18, 2012 11:13 AM

    5 Well enough resourced. Mar 16, 2012 7:48 PM

6 Have netbooks permanently available in the classroom this year and it is aregular part of my group work. Using ipods for digital photo work etc.

    Mar 16, 2012 4:39 PM

    7 Accessible Mar 16, 2012 4:13 PM

8 Make laptops/netbooks more accessible to students (i.e. enough for a wholeclass to work on at the same time). More resources to use on the interactivewhiteboard (i.e. interactive lessons/programmes)

    Mar 16, 2012 3:37 PM

9 Time consuming to keep it running. We need more laptops or notebooks sowe could teach groups then have them have work on activities. Mar 16, 2012 2:01 PM

10 It would be beneficial if there were a small class collection of ICT equipmentsuch as laptops, Ipods, Ipads, etc so small groups could use them within theclassroom.

    Mar 16, 2012 1:17 PM

11 Would be good to have everything set up and working all the time Mar 16, 2012 12:32 PM

12 Pretty good, 5 net books per senior class. My class and one other arecurrently fundraising to get minimum of 25 net books or tablets.

    Mar 15, 2012 8:31 PM

13 The school has a good range of equipment but it needs to be worked out abetter system so that a whole class can access it. Junior School lacks alot ofequipment that the senior school has.

    Mar 15, 2012 8:03 PM

14 Find laptops difficult to manage with new entrants Having senior buddies tohelp really works

    Mar 15, 2012 5:55 PM

15 iPAds are much easier for juniors to use than laptops senior buddies to helpis a good idea

    Mar 15, 2012 5:55 PM

16 A few ipads would be good. Either a couple of laptops or (younger) desktopswould allow for continued use.

    Mar 15, 2012 4:52 PM

17 Generally good condition - some upkeep needed with the older stuff Mar 15, 2012 2:25 PM

18 Great when it is working Mar 15, 2012 10:51 AM

19 the PCs/desktops are well past their use by date! the server needs replacing, there has been an increase in mobile devices, a stable wireless and IWBs

    Mar 14, 2012 10:46 PM

    20 None Mar 12, 2012 2:05 PM

21 I would like to have a number in my classroom so I can use on a daily basis Mar 12, 2012 12:58 PM

22 lot of equipment introduced over the past couple of years, just not enough forevery child to use often enough and do as much as we would like

Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

23 Good range of different equipment, encouraged to use it. Mar 11, 2012 1:24 PM

24 I am currently teaching in the Library of our school. We are in the process ofsetting the room up as a classroom and as a result I do not have any of theICT resources that other classroom have avaible to them.

    Mar 9, 2012 4:28 PM

    25 limited resources Mar 9, 2012 3:39 PM

26 Being new to the school I am impressed with the use I see others using andwith the students knowledge of the equipment, it would be brilliant to havemore laptops available for class usage, and I have seen the possibilities foriPads in junior classes at other schools. Personally I need more upskillingand confidence in using IT in the classroom.

    Mar 9, 2012 12:22 PM

27 We have good levels of equipment (or potential to achieve good levels viaannual ICT budget). The challenge is to ensure that equipment is used to itsmaximum benefit

    Mar 9, 2012 11:55 AM

28 We are very well resourced. Mar 8, 2012 2:42 PM

29 We have pods of laptops which works for our school at the present time, however some teacher are getting to the stage where laptops in the classwould be advantagous. The issues is using finances to get the most bang forour buck.

    Mar 8, 2012 12:13 PM

30 i feel that the school is reasonablt resourced, particularly with IWBs in allrooms and training undertaken. We have not moved towards hand-helddevices yet. school laptops well used

    Mar 8, 2012 12:05 PM

31 It is growing and giving us great opportunities to integrate it authentically intoevery aspect of the learning

    Mar 7, 2012 4:18 PM

32 I am certainly improving my skills by simply having the opportunity to playaround with the equipment. This exploration is an important phase oflearning to teach with the equipment.

    Mar 7, 2012 4:18 PM

33 Equipment is maintained and keep up dated. Distribution is equitable. Couldalways use more access!

    Mar 7, 2012 9:34 AM

    34 none Mar 7, 2012 8:58 AM

35 We have just upgraded all of our computers so they all have the samesoftware.

    Mar 6, 2012 8:12 PM

36 I have just changed levels, so would use different things with the level I have

    now.

    Mar 6, 2012 5:58 PM

    37 Generally well equipped Mar 6, 2012 3:49 PM

38 We have a great set of Mac books. It would be great if we had softwarespecifically to support maths and literacy programs, which would offerindividual learning time for the students.

    Mar 5, 2012 4:30 PM

39 We are well equipped and are lucky to have 2 approachable leaders and aPrincipal who is very knowledgable.

    Mar 5, 2012 4:02 PM

40 some excellent technology and applications, very motivationg for teachersand students, just difficult to rely on the technology working

    25/3325 of 33

Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

41 Older desktops that need a fair bit of TLC. We have a contract with Norrcomto provide support this year. We would like more wireless devices eg iPads-but who doesn't?! Our 14 wireless laptops go well and have been prettybombproof considering they are secondhand. We are about to get betterwireless across the school. We have digital cameras, video cameras(handheld) and a digital microscope as well as IWB's in every room with 3

    sets of voting devices.

    Mar 5, 2012 4:01 PM

42 Norcom are coming into our school on a fortnightly basis to support us withan ICT issues we have.

    Mar 5, 2012 4:00 PM

43 It can be frustrating when you have spent time planning with an ict/computercomponent in reading and maths programme including the laptop pod andthe technology doesn't work and you have 27 children all requiring help :(Otherwise the computer component fits in with learning well.

    Mar 5, 2012 4:00 PM

44 ICT equipment is very good - however, it constantly requires updating andmaintaining. Over all, we are really lucky.

    Mar 5, 2012 4:00 PM

45 Desk top computers are old and often unusable due to ongoing problems Mar 5, 2012 3:59 PM

46 I think we are pretty lucky in the terms of the equipment we have, butsometimes our desktop computers are very slow, which the juniors getfrustrated with and the projecter is hard to see if it is light in the classroom.

    Mar 5, 2012 3:58 PM

47 Unfortunately quite a number of our computers in the class do not work, therefore the children are unable to use them.

    Mar 5, 2012 3:58 PM

48 desktops need to be working, a camera in each class would be useful andget used more often as with conflicting needs from others

    Mar 5, 2012 3:58 PM

49 Is of a high standard. More availability in the senior school Mar 5, 2012 1:46 PM

50 There is only one lap top and 6 desk tops to use in a shared teaching space. Not enough to develop programmes around them. Data projector now used alot. Frustrations over lack of equipment, time taken out of teaching to fixsomething on the computer when one of the young children do somethingwrong, batteries for cameras, etc. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a spareset of hands to look after things like that.

    Mar 2, 2012 4:31 PM

51 We do not all have access to the same amount of or type of devices. UnlessI use something regularly I forget how to use some of the devices. We allhave cameras but and I get confused with setting them on photo or videosettings.they are not the same

    Mar 1, 2012 3:33 PM

52 The ipad is my own as is the cellphone :) Mar 1, 2012 2:39 PM

53 More laptops in the classroom so children can work independently on themIpod touches in the juniors A camera that hooks into the tv and you can putbooks (etc) underneath it. (Can't remember their name)

    Mar 1, 2012 1:50 PM

    54 It's too expensive and I don't really need it Mar 1, 2012 12:19 PM

55 Generally well maintained and fixed quickly if there are problems, but wouldalways be great to have more.

Q6. What general comments or suggestions do you have about the ICT equipment in your school?

57 We are well resourced. Feb 29, 2012 9:51 PM

58 Pretty good but in need of care and attention to be made to work efficientlyand all of the time. Some systems need tidying up.

    Feb 29, 2012 9:18 PM

59 It is great when it works. Would prefer to have better computer tables for kids

to work at. Good to have an IT expert on staff who actually explains anddemonstrates \.

    Feb 29, 2012 6:57 PM

60 We seem to have quite a bit of trouble with the classroom computers whichcan be frustrating. we, do however, have a good range of devices which wecan use.

    Feb 29, 2012 5:26 PM

61 It is difficult to maintain and run my own classroom. Feb 29, 2012 5:00 PM

62 We have lots of I.C.T equipment which is cool:) Our t.vs are fantastic whenthey work. the connector cords are too unreliable.

    Feb 29, 2012 5:00 PM

    63 ok - wish we had more. Feb 29, 2012 4:51 PM

64 It has been very frustrating and time wasting, because of connectionproblems and breakdowns.

    Feb 29, 2012 4:21 PM

65 Age and reliability of equipment can hinder attempts to include ICTsuccessfully. Looking forward to new wireless and ultrafast broadband -hopefully connections will be more reliable.

    Feb 29, 2012 4:18 PM

    66 Very poorly resourced Feb 29, 2012 4:18 PM

    67 It's poor, but we're getting there. Feb 29, 2012 4:03 PM

68 What we have is not sufficient or up-to-date enough compared to what our

students have at home so there is a gap.

    Feb 29, 2012 3:38 PM

69 ICT equipment appears to be easily accessible in Boulcott and seems to runreasonably well.

    Feb 29, 2012 3:26 PM

70 Can be frustrating, but getting there! Feb 29, 2012 3:14 PM

71 We need more variety, ie, ipads, notebooks etc so chn are exposed todifferent types. Apple technology in particular as it is so widely used in the"outside world" but not at all in LBS.

    Feb 29, 2012 1:50 PM

72 When things inevitably go wrong there needs to be someone available tohelp solve the problem. It would be great to have more laptops per class. 4is time limiting.

    Feb 29, 2012 1:36 PM

73 It is great having permanent laptops in our classroom. Would be great tohave more and Ipads etc

    Feb 29, 2012 1:28 PM

74 I think there are still a lot of hardware problems. For exmaple, we have 1ibook that the keyboard doesn't work, and 1 macbook that has to alwayshave the charger in. We have trouble printing several times a week due tothe server. It would be great to have 6 working laptops in the class - enoughfor one guided group.
