2012 Calendar of Events Friday, April 27 – Denver – “Expanding Our Vision: Positive Outcomes

from around the World” • The National Empowerment Center and Amy Smith

present this event that brings nationally renowned speakers together to share their stories about mental health.

Wednesday, May 2 - Aurora – “Living Life to the Fullest” Aurora Mental Health Center’s 8th Annual Spring Benefit Luncheon • Luncheon will feature The Water Coolers, a New York-

based music and comedy group that uses Broadway talent to satirically celebrate the things we share around the water cooler every day – life, work, kids, husbands, wives, travel, technology–and trying to balance it.

Thursday, May 3 – Colorado Springs – Blame Sally Benefit Concert for

AspenPointe Health Service’s Creative Expressions Program, in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month • Blame Sally has a unique collective of four distinct voices

and musical backgrounds. The group has forged a compelling and original sound that has earned the band the well deserved reputation as a “Bay Area phenomenon.”

Colorado’s Behavioral Health Partnership The Behavioral Health Partnership is a long-standing group of mental health and substance use disorder stakeholder organizations. Mission: To raise awareness of mental health and substance use disorder issues and ensure quality systems of care and treatment, policy, and funding for mental health through unified action. Key Goals:

• Present as one voice to policy makers whenever possible • Reduce stigma • Ensure services are recovery and resiliency focused • Increase the influence of behavioral health in state government • Advocate for access to appropriate medications in the most cost effective way
