Perhaps the observation of things has remainedmy most important formal education; forobservation later becomes transformed intomemory. Now I seem to see all the things I haveobserved arranged like tools in a neat row; theyare aligned as in a botanical chart, or a catalogue,or a dictionary. But this catalogue, lyingsomewhere between imagination and memory, isnot neutral; it always reappears in several objectsand constitutes their deformation and, in someways, their evolution.

Marino Formenti / Nowhere
Nowhere is a non-place in the city center. For
twelve days the pianist Marino Formenti sits at thepiano, plays, lives, breathes, eats, sleeps in thesame space, contemporaneously and mercilesslypublic and private. The divisions between stageand life are blurred, between day and night, and
they cancel out the conventions of time, programme and place. Formenti

experiments with his own limits and horizons. Thedays themselves become music. People are invitedto stop, to come and go, to go back and listenagain to experience the music in a differentdimension. Nowhere provides listening modes toenable extremely comfortable extended listening:stretched out is the best way. Unlike the usual'abnormal' way of listening to live music, here it isnot a case of watching the performer - who aspiresto disappear along with the audience -.(MortonFeldman: "my ideal audience is the dead one").Nowhere is a space that can only accommodatemusic dedicated to disappearance, to nothingness. For Bologna, Formenti thought of a chapter ofNowhere dedicated to John Cage, and entitled Inth e cage. The programm e includes as a centralmasterpiece ASLSP (As Slow As Possible), theex tended p iece of his recent 'mature' work andother pro liferations.

Sachlichkeit
Very interesting reprint from Domus magazine,1935: The Olivetti shop in Turin by XantiSchawinsky,
They wrote: "...The shop's style is that of theSachlichkeit, the highest concept of pure form, towhich its creator has managed to give a vividsense of "magic reality" like a Breuer or aLissitzky.
The mechanisms devised to turn this shop into aperfect "selling machine" need no comment, soappropriate and in keeping with a clearpsychological intuition do they seem to us. We arehappy to bring this shop to our readers' attentionso that people with good taste may have furtherproof of the amazing potential of the new tasteand those operating in the sector an example ofthe dignity that must go into such a work, whichrequires the style of the artist and

"I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-marketfashion is very modern - wearing head-to-toedesigner has become a bit passe. It's a new era in
fashion - there are no rules. It's all about theindividual and personal style, wearing high-end,low-end, classic labels, and up-and-comingdesigners all together."
